Amsterdam – Paris – Hague * April 12-20, 2022

 April 12th, you will depart San Francisco to begin your European adventure, landing in the timeless city of Amsterdam on April 13th.

 Amsterdam

April 13:

Today you will arrive in Amsterdam to begin your European adventure. A highlight of this day will be a Hop-On Hop-Off city bus tour* after checking into your hotel. Built on a network of centuries-old canals, Amsterdam is a delightful city. The largest and most cosmopolitan city of the Netherlands, it is also the diamond-cutting capital of the world.  Before closing the evening, you will visit the Anne Frank House*, where Anne Frank took refuge during the Nazi invasion of World War II and wrote her famous diary.

 

April 14:

Exploring the Rijksmuseum*, Stedelijk Museum* and Van Gogh Museum* with your tour leader will be the highlight of your day. Dedicate the remainder of the day with visits to the Flower Market, Dam Square and Rembrandt Square.

 

April 15:

This morning you will embark on a full day excursion to the Hague*, where you will visit Escher in the Palace* and Mauritshuis*, seeing beauty abundantly displayed in art and architecture. This evening marvel at the natural sights on the Canal Cruise.

 

April 16:

Your morning will begin with an excursion through the Dutch countryside to visit the villages of Zaanse Schans* and Volendam* before boarding your train for Paris.

April 17:

Begin your day with the Hop-On Hop-Off double decker city bus tour* and explore area points of interest such as the Musee d’Orsay*, where various artistic movements represented include Academism, Realism, Impressionism, Symbolism and Art nouveau. This afternoon see the “City of Light” from atop the Eiffel Tower*.

 

April 18:

Today you will enjoy visits to Louvre* (the world’s largest art museum), housing such legends as the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory and the Mona Lisa. Conciergerie*, once a royal palace transformed into a prison in the late 14th century where Queen Marie Antoinette was held captive until her death, and St. Chapelle*, an amazing example of the gothic architecture and the most beautiful stained glass in all of Paris. This afternoon explore points of interest with your tour leader such as the Pompidou Center*, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur and Montmartre.   

 

April 19:

This morning you will travel outside of Paris to Versailles*, home to Louis XIV, the Sun King. The opulent Palace and the surrounding grounds will astound you! Upon returning to Paris this evening, you will be enjoying your farewell dinner* aboard a Seine River Cruise*.

 

April 20:

Today you will return to the United States with fond memories, amazing experiences and perhaps a souvenir or two from your European adventure.
