 Amsterdam

May 9 – 11, 2020

On May 9th, you will arrive in Amsterdam to begin your European adventure. A highlight of this day will be a guided city tour* before checking into your hotel. Built on a network of centuries-old canals, Amsterdam is a delightful city. The largest and most cosmopolitan city of the Netherlands, it is also the diamond-cutting capital of the world. Exploring the Rijksmuseum* and the Van Gogh Museum* with your advisor will be the highlight of May 10th. Spend the remainder of the day with visits to the Flower Market, Dam Square and Rembrandt Square. On May 11th, you will have morning time at leisure for visiting optional museums of interest such as the Anne Frank House, Stedelijk Museum, or many others before boarding your afternoon flight to Venice.

Venice

May 11 – 13, 2020

The afternoon of May 11th, you will bid farewell to Amsterdam as you depart to Venice, Italy. Spend the afternoon at leisure to explore this canal city including such sites as the Peggy Guggenheim Museum* and optionally enjoy a Gondola ride to experience traditional Venetian culture (free to those who register by the deadline). Begin May 12th with a guided city tour* to local area points of interest such as the Doges Palace*, Bridge of Sighs, and the Rialto Bridge.

Vicenza, Padua & Verona

May 13 – 15, 2020

On May 13th, you will say goodbye to Venice as you board a train* to Vicenza. On arrival in Vicenza a guided tour of the city* is planned to include the Teatro Olympico*, designed by Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio and considered the first example of a covered theater since antiquity. An excursion to Padua is planned for May 14th. Padua is an old university town with an illustrious academic history that is rich in art and architecture. Here, you will enjoy a guided city tour*, including the Scrovengi Chapel* and St. Anthony’s Basilica*, before continuing to Verona this afternoon. Verona is a delightful city for enjoying a guided tour* including the Roman Arena* before returning to Vicenza this afternoon.  On May 15th you continue your adventure to Florence!

Florence

May 15 – 17, 2020

As birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence will thrill you with its treasures! After checking into your hotel, spend the rest of the day exploring sites as determined by your advisor. May 16th will begin with a guided city tour*, to include many of the important sights of this historic town including the Accademia*, home to Michelangelo’s “David”.  The afternoon is dedicated to exploring optional area points of interest with your advisor such as the Uffizi Gallery*, Boboli Gardens, Dante’s house, the Medici Chapel, various museums and shopping in the straw market and open-air market. On May 17th, you will board a plane bound for home with souvenirs, memories, and perhaps a photo or two in tow marking the end of your European adventure.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The tour price, if payments are made by cash or check, is $3,999.00; otherwise, if paying by credit card, the standard non-discounted price is $4,099.00.  If you wish to use a credit card for your initial deposit, you will be allowed to pay the remaining payments by check and still receive the discounted tour price. Trip price is based on triple occupancy and includes round trip airfare from Charleston, point-to point transportation between cities while in Europe, all breakfasts and 2 dinners. Additionally, *Entrance fees and/or transportation marked with an asterisk as well as city tours in Amsterdam, Venice, Vicenza, Padua, Verona and Florence are included in the tour price (Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Peggy Guggenheim Museum, Doges Palace, Teatro Olympico, Scrovengi Chapel, Roman Arena, Academia, Uffizi). In the unlikely event that EA Tours cancels the tour and is unable to operate a substitute itinerary, the tour cost including the initial deposit is fully refundable. Additional items may be offered optionally, are subject to availability and are not included in the tour price.  A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $530.00. A guaranteed twin room may be available for a supplemental charge of $240.00 per person. Included are the estimated applicable governmental international airline ticket taxes, fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and associated fees.
