Rome

May 13 – 15, 2019

Upon your arrival to Rome on May 13th, you will enjoy a guided panoramic walking tour of the city* including a visit to the Colosseum and Forum*. The morning of May 14th will begin with a guided tour of the Vatican Museums* including St. Peter’s Basilica* and the Sistine Chapel*, where you will view the famous Rafael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel. The gorgeous Sistine Chapel, painted by the illustrious Michelangelo, and the massive St. Peter’s Basilica will leave you awestruck. Spend the evening at leisure exploring with your tour leader to such sites as the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. On May 15th, you will bid farewell to Rome as you travel to Florence by train*.

 

Florence

May 15 – 16, 2019

As birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence will thrill you with its treasures! Upon your arrival on May 15th, the afternoon will begin with a guided city tour*, to include many of the important sights of this historic town including the Accademia*, home to Michelangelo’s “David”.  After checking into your hotel, spend the rest of the day exploring sites as determined by your advisor. May 16th is dedicated to exploring optional area points of interest with your tour leader such as the Uffizi Gallery, Boboli Gardens, Dante’s house, the Medici Chapel, various museums and shopping in the straw market and open-air market. This afternoon, you will board a train* bound for the beautiful city of Vicenza.

 

Vicenza, Verona, Padua, Venice

May 16 – 20, 2019

On May 16th, you will arrive and check into your hotel in Vicenza. May 17th begins with an excursion to Verona for enjoying a guided city tour* including Juliet’s Balcony* and the Roman Arena* before returning to Vicenza this afternoon.  In Vicenza a guided tour of the city* is planned to include the Teatro Olympico*, designed by Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio and considered the first example of a covered theater since antiquity. An excursion to Padua by train* is planned for May 18th. Padua is an old university town with an illustrious academic history that is rich in art and architecture. Here, you will enjoy a guided city tour*, including the Scrovengi Chapel* and St. Anthony’s Basilica*, before returning to Vicenza this evening. The morning of May 19th you will depart Vicenza for an excursion to Venice by train*. Begin the day with a guided city tour* to local area points of interest such as the Rialto Bridge, . Spend the afternoon at leisure to explore this canal city including such sites as the Peggy Guggenheim Museum*and optionally enjoy a Gondola ride to experience traditional Venetian culture (free to those who register by the deadline). On May 20th, you will bid farewell to the charm of Italy and return home, taking with you fond memories of your incredible journey.

In the unlikely event that EA Tours cancels the tour and is unable to operate a substitute itinerary, the tour cost including the initial deposit is fully refundable. Additional items may be offered optionally, are subject to availability and are not included in the tour price.  A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $290.00. A guaranteed twin room may be available for a supplemental charge of $165.00 per person.
