Sunday, March 4th

This morning you will depart Quincy, FL by motor-coach ride to begin your adventure in Washington D.C.!

Monday, March 5th

After breakfast at the hotel, you will stop for a photo op at the Washington Monument*, honoring our 1st United States President. Your next stop will be a humbling visit to the Holocaust Memorial Museum*. Afterwards a visit to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History * which offers exhibits such as the Star Spangled Banner and The Price of Freedom: Americans at War is planned. After lunch, a visit to the National Archives is planned. You will then enjoy visiting one of the most majestic structures in Washington D.C., the National Cathedral*. Dinner is planned at the Pentagon City Mall.  Afterward, you will have an opportunity to see the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial* before returning to your hotel this evening.

Tuesday, March 6th

Following breakfast, you will visit Arlington National Cemetery*, resting place for so many American heroes.  Here, witness Kennedy’s eternal flame and the solemn Changing of the Guard Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Your tour leader will direct you to the memorials dedicated to the Space Shuttles Columbia and Challenger following the ceremony.  Afterwards view The Marine Corps Memorial* before traveling to Capitol Hill for lunch.  You will then partake in a guided tour of the US Capitol*, which is sure to be a highlight of your afternoon.  The Senate and the House of Representatives have met at the Capitol for over 200 years. You will have time to appreciate the stunning architecture of the Capitol as well as the spirit of the nation and government it represents. A visit is planned to the National Portrait Gallery*, which tells the story of America by portraying the people who shape the nation’s history, development and culture. After dinner, the highlight this evening will be an illuminated visit to memorials dedicated to the pride and sacrifice of the American people, such as the FDR, Jefferson and MLK, Jr. Memorials*.

Wednesday, March 7th

This morning begins with the Vietnam, WWII, Lincoln and Korean Memorials*. Next, your group will journey to the Smithsonian Museums*, which includes the Natural History, American History, Air and Space and National Museum of the American Indian to name a few. There are more than 154 million objects, works of art and specimens at the Smithsonian Museums and Galleries, so there is something for everyone. There will be plenty of time to explore the Smithsonian Museums of your group’s choice. During this time, your group may also choose to visit the National Gallery of Art, the nation’s museum, which preserves, collects, exhibits, and fosters an understanding of works of art. This evening you will enjoy an evening of ice skating and a pizza party* before returning to the hotel.

Thursday, March 8th

After breakfast you will depart your hotel for a tour of the White House*(pending availability). Afterwards, you will be given time for souvenir shopping. Your final stop before departing for home will be Mount Vernon*, George Washington’s estate and final resting place. Lunch is included at Mount Vernon. Your guide will direct you through Washington’s home, tomb and the many buildings which helped to run this large estate. From there, you will depart Washington D.C. for your overnight trip home.

Friday, March 9th

This morning you will arrive home bringing with you fantastic memories and a deeper pride and appreciation for American history.

Please note that all above-mentioned scheduled activities are subject to change or cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. availability, weather, traffic, etc.).  A minimum number of paying participants may be required to operate the tour.
