Persinger Tour of Greece and Croatia
Day 1 – September 24, 2017- Sunday
Today you depart the United States on your overnight flight to Athens. Naturally, meals will be served and optional in-flight entertainment offered. Please refer to your flight schedule for pertinent details.
Day 2 – September 25, 2017 – Monday
Upon arrival, you will transfer to your hotel. Following hotel check-in, you will begin to explore Athens with your tour director. This evening is dedicated to explore the Plaka where there will be time for sightseeing and shopping for souvenirs. Dinner tonight is included.
Day 3 – September 26, 2017 – Tuesday
This morning you will enjoy your guided city tour including entrance to the Acropolis. The highlight of this afternoon is a visit to the Temple of Poseidon, god of the sea, at Cape Sounion. Dinner is included.
Day 4 – September 27, 2017 – Wednesday
Today begins your classical tour of Greece with guided visits to Mycenae and Epidaurus. You will overnight in Tolo where dinner is included.
Day 5 – September 28, 2017 – Thursday
Today you visit ancient Olympia and its Archaeological Museum with your guide. You will overnight on Olympia with dinner included.
Day 6 – September 29, 2017 – Friday
Today you pass over the new bridge from Rio to Antirio as you make your way to Delphi, home to the Sanctuary of Apollo and the Oracle of Delphi. You will visit the archaeological site and the Museum of Delphi. Dinner is included.
Day 7 – September 30, 2017 – Saturday
Today you will return to Athens. In the afternoon, you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Dubrovnik. Upon arrival, you will transfer to your hotel. Dinner is included
Day 8- October 1, 2017 – Sunday
Begin today with a guided city tour with visits to such sites as the Cathedral, Franciscans Monastery and Rector Palace. This afternoon you will enjoy exploring area points of interest with your tour leader.
Day 9 – October 2, 2017 – Monday
Dedicate today to an excursion to the peninsula of Peljesac with stop in Trsteno to see the Arboretum, enjoy a wine tasting in Peljesac, and see Old Salt Factory in Ston. In Ston you may wish to optionally enjoy an afternoon sea food lunch and shopping at leisure before returning to Dubrovnik this evening.
Day 10- October 3, 2017 – Tuesday
Today you will depart Dubrovnik for Zagreb. After checking into your hotel, you will enjoy a city tour of Zagreb, Croatian capital city, during which you will have the occasion to see the fortified Upper Town, the city’s historical center, St Mark’s church with multi-colored roof, the Cathedral, Croatian National Theatre and University.
Day 11 – October 4, 2017 – Wednesday
Today you will enjoy a full day excursion to Varazdin a baroque city, 80 kilometers away from Zagreb. During the city tour you will see the historic part of city including a visit to the Municipal museum.
Day 12 – October 5, 2017- Thursday
Enjoy today with an excursion to Plitvice, famous for its scenic Lake District. Plitvice National Park is a well-known UNESCO World Heritage Site with 16 lakes cascading into 92 spectacular waterfalls. Surrounded by dense woods, Plitvice lakes are a natural phenomenon of rare and unique beauty. Farewell Dinner Included
Day 13 – October 6, 2017- Friday
After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
