Paris, Dijon, & Beaune

March 28th

After departing Atlanta on March 27th, you will arrive at France’s Charles de Gaulle airport the next morning. Upon arrival you will transfer immediately to your train bound for Dijon.  On arrival you will travel to your hotel for check-in before enjoying the rest of your evening exploring area points of interest with your tour leader.

March 29th

Today is dedicated to exploring the beautiful city of Beaune.  Beaune, now the center of the Burgundy wine industry in France, is a medieval walled city with many ruins still standing in good condition for viewing.  The Historical “Old Town” is extensive and fascinates visitors with battlements, ramparts and moats, which are still intact, and also a central square with traditional shopping areas.

March 30th

The morning is dedicated to discovering the many fascinating sights of the city with your tour leader.  Dijon, a place of tremendous wealth and power in early centuries, is one of the great European centers of art, learning and science.  While exploring this magnificent city you may wish to visit its famous Cathedral, University, or some of the 18th century townhouses still in existence today.

March 31st

Bid farewell to Dijon as you board your train for Paris!!  Upon arrival a visit is planned to the Musee d’ Orsay* (Impressionists collection).  Perhaps this evening you will choose to ascend the Eiffel Tower (free to those who submit their application and deposit by the deadline), and enjoy an opportunity that offers an unparalleled view of Paris by night.

April 1st

This day will be defined by a guided city tour* as Paris waits to greet you with all of the charm and the elegance for which it is famous.  The Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, and Place de la Concorde are among a few of the important sights this “City of Light” has to offer.  Later, explore the Sacre Coeur district, with its countless artists, eateries, parks and vistas. You may wish to view the artists of Montmartre at Place du Tertre, shop at Les Galeries Lafayette (France’s largest department store) or simply relax and enjoy the charm of the elegant boulevards and the outdoor cafes.
