An essential part of traveling is being able to experience the culture- more specifically, the culinary culture. I mean…let’s face it no educational tour would be complete without sampling some of the host country’s best dishes.
Let me tell you, Italy is not short on superb cuisine. Below are a few snapshots of dishes I recently tried while traveling on an educational tour.
Keep an eye out for when I feature the foods you must try while in the Italian homeland.
Ah pizza! Originating in Naples, pizza has rapidly become a quintessential dish of Italia. With an endless array of toppings, there’s no doubt you’ll find one to your liking.
The blood orange juice is to die for! Try it next time you are in the country.
The perfect way to start your morning.
So much gelato! How will you ever choose?! The answer is try them all.
Some yummy tiramisu.
Free samples? Don’t mind if I do. The Central Food Market is a fantastic place to visit to try a wide range of meats and cheeses from around the country.
Some of the best bruschetta I’ve ever had.
Your educational tour wouldn’t be complete without sampling pasta!
A sweet treat before a full day of sightseeing.
My Mom with a delicious lemon granita from a stand on the side of the road on the way to Sorrento.
Prosciutto and mozzarella.
Another wonderful Pizza Margherita.
This is probably the best dessert I had on all the tour. May I introduce lemon ice cream drenched in limoncello. Pure Heaven.
