Letters are just letters, but when put together to form words and those words then form sentences it’s remarkable how powerful those letters can be. Often times when I’m writing blog posts, I’ll come across certain quotes that make me sit back and think about traveling to far off lands that are mysterious and unknown to foreigners. More often than not these quotes are about traveling and are usually accompanied with pictures that show gorgeous spots in this world. They are the kind of pictures that make you say “wow!” You begin to realize that you are only a small part of this place we call home and that there’s so much to see and do. If you ever needed inspiration to travel, let these quotes be just that. Simply just GO. Travel far and see as much of this wonderful world we live in as you can.
Below is a list of some of my favorite inspirational travel quotes. I hope they encourage you to head out and see the world!
“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” Saint Augustine.
“All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.” Martin Buber.
“Like all great travelers, I have seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.” Benjamin Disraeli.
“Not all those who wander are lost.” J.R.R. Tolkien.
“The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.” Samuel Johnson.
“Travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer.” Unknown.
“There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only who is foreign.” Robert Louis Stevenson.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain.
“We wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfillment.” Hilaire Belloc.
“Who lives sees, but who travels sees more.” Unknown.
“Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.” Dalai Lama.
“No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow.” Lin Yutang.
“Once you have traveled, the voyage never ends, but is played over and over again in the quietest chambers. The mind can never break off from the journey.” Pat Conroy.
“Travel, in the younger sort, is a part of education; in the elder, a part of experience.” Francis Bacon.
“Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind.” Seneca.
“Take only memories leave only footprints.” Chief Seattle.
“To travel is to take a journey into yourself.” Danny Kaye.
“Travel is like an endless university. You never stop learning.” Harvey Lloyd.
“To travel is to live.” Hans Christian Anderson.
When one travels, they experience a deeper meaning of life. It humbles and inspires, and is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Do not be afraid to travel, experiencing the unknown is what makes traveling so exciting! So I encourage you to get out and explore the world. Whether it is on an educational student tour, for business, pleasure, or whatever else experience all that you can.
