Located among the rolling hills of County Louth in Ireland, lies the famed historical area of Monasterboice. This scenic region leading to Newgrange is full of unspoiled beauty and breathtaking vistas. Unfortunately, the monastery was plundered during the 10th century and its books and numerous treasures were badly burned. However, that shouldn’t deter you from visiting this city of the past. Elaborately carved crosses and the tower remain for you to admire the former glory of Monasterboice.
