Day 1 – Friday, September
Depart New Orleans, La. for Europe
Day 2 – Saturday, September 21
Arrive Rome International Airport and immediately transfer to the town of Sorrento on the Amalfi Coast with a visit to the Naples Archeological Museum en-route. Following hotel check-in, the afternoon is free to explore and rest after your overnight flight. Overnight Sorrento.
Day 3 – Sunday, September 22
Approximate 9 am departure from your hotel for a full day excursion to the Isle of Capri. This wonderful excursion offers you time to explore the village on at the harbor and weather permitting, experience the beauty of the Blue Grotto. Overnight Sorrento.
Day 4 – Monday, September 23
Your entire day is devoted to personal time for you to enjoy the shops and sites of Sorrento. Overnight Sorrento.
Day 5 – Tuesday, September 24
Approximate 9 a.m. departure from Sorrento for your guided morning visit and tour of the amazing historic site of Pompeii. Following your Pompeii tour and a break for lunch, you will be transferred to the Naples train station where you will connect with your afternoon train (approx. 3 hours) to Florence.
Upon arrival to Florence, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in procedures. The evening is free to begin your explorations of this magical city. Overnight Florence.
Day 6 – Wednesday, September 25
Approximate 9 am departure from your hotel for a privately guided walking tour, including a visit to see the DAVID by Michelangelo at the Academia. Your afternoon is devoted to enjoying the treasures of the Uffizi Gallery as well as exploring the markets and shops for which Florence is so famous. Overnight Florence.
Day 7 – Thursday, September 26
A morning departure by train bound for Rome is scheduled. Upon arrival to Rome, you will transfer to your hotel for check-in followed by a walking tour through the historic district featuring the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps and my personal favorite, The Trevi Fountain as well visits to the Colosseum and Forum.
Your evening is free to rest and catch your breath or to continue exploring the sites at night of this wonderful capital city. Overnight Rome.
Day 8 – Friday, September 27
Today is free personal sightseeing and last-minute shopping. Suggestion: There are numerous optional activities that can be organized. You might want to do an optional Italian cooking class (which we can arrange) or simply go on a guided bike excursion along the Appian Way to visit some of the ancient tombs / Catacombs. Your afternoon is devoted to visiting the Villa Borghese and the Borghese Park. Overnight Rome. Overnight Rome.
Day 9 – Saturday, September 28 This morning is free to enjoy sight-seeing to local museums or churches of your choice. Approximate noon departure for an afternoon visit to the wonders of Vatican City is suggested. You will begin with a guided visit of the ever-important Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. Following your museum visit, you will enjoy the beauty and majesty and of the world’s largest place of worship, St. Peters Basilica.
Day 10 – Sunday, September 29
Following breakfast, you will be transferred to the Rome International Airport for your return trip to the USA.
