On October 12th, you will depart Orlando on a flight destined for Washington, D.C. Immerse yourself in the history of our nation’s capital which will leave you with a deeper pride and understanding of American History. Museum encounters, memorial visits, and preserved historical sites make this trip exciting and rewarding. Bring these memories home with you on October 15th.

This morning, depart Orlando on a flight bound for our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Your private motor coach and tour leader will meet you on arrival at the airport. Your first stop will be the Marine Corps War Memorial*, also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial. From there, explore the Smithsonian Natural History Museum*. Some of the popular exhibits to be seen there include Dinosaurs, FossiLab and The Hope Diamond. Nearby, the Smithsonian Museum of American History offers exhibits such as the Star-Spangled Banner and Julia Child’s kitchen. Dinner* tonight will be followed by a Moonlight Tour* of the memorials, including the Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Jefferson Memorials.

October 13, 2023

Start your day with a photo opportunity in front of the White House, followed by the United States National Arboretum*. This popular garden aims to increase the aesthetic, environmental and economic importance of landscape and ornamental plants through its extensive 446 acres of gardens and exhibits. Explore the Wright 1903 Flyer and the Apollo 11 command module, Columbia at the Smithsonian Museum of Air and Space*. After lunch*, you will experience a humbling visit to the Holocaust Museum*, both a touching and vivid reminder of those who were persecuted and a supplication against such inhumanity. Then, explore the National Archives* where you will view some of the most important documents in our nation’s history including The Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and the Constitution. This afternoon, you will tour the National Portrait Gallery*, whose collections focuses on images of famous Americans. Just around the corner lies the Smithsonian American Art Museum*, which holds one of the world’s largest and most inclusive collections of art, from the colonial period to the present. After dinner*, enjoy a special frozen treat at Pop’s Ice Cream* before returning to your hotel.

October 14, 2023

Begin today by traversing Arlington National Cemetery*, the final resting place for countless American heroes. Here, witness the solemn Changing of the Guards Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and maybe even participate in a Wreath Laying Ceremony (pending approval). Following lunch*, you will have a viewing of the Washington Monument*. Visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture*, the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture. After dinner*, visit the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial*, a permanent outdoor memorial to the victims in the building and on American Airlines Flight 77 during the September 11 attacks. Tonight, you will have free time at the hotel.

October 15, 2023

After breakfast, journey to Mount Vernon*, George Washington’s estate and final resting place. Your guide will direct you through Washington’s home, tomb and the many buildings which helped to run this large estate. You will also participate in the wreath-laying ceremony* at George Washington’s tomb. After lunch*, you depart for home, taking along with you memories, souvenirs, and a deeper pride and appreciation for American History.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: *The tour price, if payments are made by cash or check, is $1898.00; otherwise, if paying by credit card, the standard non-discounted price is $1976.00. If you wish to use a credit card for your initial deposit, you will be allowed to pay the remaining payments by check and still receive the discounted tour price. The tour price is based on four persons to a room and includes round-trip airline transportation from Orlando, FL, hotel accommodations, 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches and

3 dinners, sightseeing, entrance fees if required and private motor-coach transportation. Anticipated sites to be visited (including entrance fees if applicable) include the Marine Corps War Memorial, Smithsonian Museums, Monuments and Memorials, White House Photo Op, Washington Monument Photo Op, Holocaust Memorial Museum, National Archives, Ice Cream, Arlington Cemetery and Tram, Arlington Wreath Laying Ceremony (pending approval), United States National Arboretum, National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial and Mount Vernon. Please note that all above-mentioned scheduled activities are subject to change, substitution, or cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. availability, weather, traffic, etc.). A guaranteed triple, double or single room may be available for a supplemental charge upon request. Included are the estimated applicable governmental airline ticket taxes, fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and associated fees. The applicable tour conditions are listed on the online application. There is a $500.00 non-refundable deposit due to be eligible for the trip. The final payment in the amount of $598.00 is due no later than August 15, 2023. Additional details will be supplied approximately 30 days before departure. Please be aware, that if you choose to use a credit card for any payment other than the initial $500. non-refundable deposit, an additional $78.00 is to be paid.

 

Final payments are due no later than August 15, 2023. For any cancellation received from August 1, 2023, up to and including August 30, 2023, a complete refund, minus a 40% cancellation penalty of the TOUR COST, will be issued. For any cancellation received from August 31, 2023, up to and including September 11, 2023, a complete refund, minus a 75% cancellation penalty of the TOUR COST, will be issued. For any cancellation received from September 12, 2023, up to and including October 12, 2023 (your departure date), the cancellation penalty is 100% of the tour cost. EA Tours reserves the right, if required, to reschedule the trip dates. In the event the trip is rescheduled, tour cancellation rules as listed above still apply. Please note that additional tour conditions are stated on the Tour Participant Application. Tour cancellation rules as listed above (dated deadlines, penalties, etc.) supersede those listed on the Tour Participant Application and agreement.
