Dublin 

September 30

Upon arriving in Ireland’s capital, you will get a sense of its rich history and culture. Your journey begins with a visit to Trinity College, where you will have the opportunity to view the most richly decorated Book of Kells*. You will also visit Saint Patrick’s Cathedral*, the largest church in Ireland, which is next to a well where it is believed St. Patrick baptized converts in 450 AD. From Dublin, travel a short distance to Trim.

 

Trim – Galway – Killarney – Kilkenny

September 30 – October 5

Your first overnight on September 30th takes you to the village of Trim, where you will visit Trim Castle*, the largest Anglo-Norman fortification in Ireland dating back to the 10th century and the site of the filming of the movie, Braveheart. Dinner this evening is included*.  From Trim castle, on October 1st,  you will continue to the charming town of Galway where you will enjoy a guided afternoon walking tour* following hotel check-in.  Dinner is on your own.  The morning of October 2nd you depart for Killarney with a visit to the spectacular Cliffs of Moher*. Your first afternoon in Killarney is free for personal sightseeing with dinner included tonight*.  On the morning of October 3rd, you will enjoy local Killarney sightseeing, to include Muckross House* and Muckross Abbey* and an opportunity to step back in time and experience a Jaunting Cart Ride*.  The afternoon takes you on a modified drive on the Ring of Kerry to visit the Gap of Dunloe and Torc Waterfall. Dinner tonight is on your own. On the morning of October 4th, you depart for Blarney Castle*, where you’ll have the opportunity to climb and kiss the Blarney stone, which is said to give the gift of eloquence. From Blarney you continue to the Jameson Whiskey Distillery* in Middleton. Following your distillery visit you continue on to the Rock of Cashel* with its 13th century cathedral, Vicars Choral and Cormac’s Chapel and then on to Kilkenny for your overnight.  Dinner is included tonight*.  On the morning of October 5th, you will tour medieval Kilkenny Castle*, which was the seat of the Dukes of Ormond for almost 600 years. After visiting the castle, you will depart for Glendalough for a short visit and Mass. You will then say goodbye to The Emerald Isle as you drive to Dublin to connect with your flight to Edinburgh.

 

Edinburgh, Scotland

October 5 – October 8

October 5th takes you on a late afternoon flight to Edinburgh, Scotland,  known as the “Prince of Cities.” Upon arrival,  you will transfer direct to your hotel for check-in and dinner* (included).  You will begin October 6th  with a guided Edinburgh city tour* including Edinburgh Castle*, the historic fortress which dominates the skyline of Edinburgh. This afternoon allows free time for personal sightseeing and shopping.  The morning of October 7th takes you for a half-day visit to renowned Stirling Castle*.   Upon your return to Edinburgh you will enjoy time at St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral*, where you will enjoy Mass (subject to availability).   From St. Mary’s, you continue on to the village of Rosslyn to visit  the famous Rosslyn Chapel* and your farewell dinner* at the Rosslyn Inn.  On October 8th  you will say goodbye to Scotland as you board your return flight to the USA.

**The estimated tour price, if payments are made by cash or check, is $4,995.00; otherwise, if paying by credit card, the estimated standard non-discounted price is $5175.00.  If you wish to use a credit card for your initial deposit, you will be allowed to pay the remaining payments by check and still receive the discounted tour price. Tour price is based on double occupancy and includes point-to-point transportation between cities while in Ireland and Scotland, all breakfast and 5 evening meals.  Additionally, *Entrance fees and/or transportation marked with an asterisk are included in the tour price ( Trinity College, Book of Kells, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Trim Castle, Guided Walking Tour, Cliffs of Moher, Muckross House, Muck Ross Abbey, Jaunting Cart Ride, Blarney Castle, Jameson Distiller, Rock of Cashel, Kilkenny Castle, Edinburgh Castle City, Stirling Castle, St. Mary’s Cathedral, Rosslyn Chapel).   Additional items may be offered optionally, are subject to availability and are  not included in the tour price.  A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $850.  If applicable, unforeseen increases (unlikely) will be billed on a supplemental invoice.  A minimum number of paying participants may be required to operate the tour.

 

A $500.00 non-refundable (for any reason) application fee / deposit is required to reserve your space on this tour. All tour participants must submit an online application.  Please go to “Student/Traveler Sign Up” on the home page (upper right hand corner) at https://eatours.com/students/student-sign-up/.  Your tour number is 224106 and must be entered on your online application.   Very specific conditions relating to COVID-19 apply and are listed in the Tour Conditions of the online Participation Agreement and Application at eatours.com.  PLEASE NOTE:   At the time of the printing of this brochure, neither the Irish Government nor the British government mandate CVOVID-19 vaccinations to gain entry into the country, museums, shops/stores, historic sites, restaurants, etc. However, entry requirements may change and entry requirements may change to require proof of full vaccination.  It is incumbent on the traveler to monitor entry requirements and pertinent rules of travel imposed by any government.    In the event that vaccination requirements are reinstated, and you choose to not be vaccinated, the refund policies stated in this brochure and in the online application are applicable and will NOT be waived, under any circumstances.

 

**Applicable governmental international airline ticket taxes, fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and associated fees (estimated to be approximately $525.00 per person) are NOT included and will be billed as a separate item on your final invoice.

 

Additional celebrations of Mass will be scheduled at various locations throughout the tour.

 

A second payment of $1000.00, for which you will receive an invoice, will be due no later than 30 days from the date that EA Tours receives your initial payment and online application.   Final payments are due no later than ninety (90) days before departure.

 

Updated tour details (hotels, day by day itinerary, flights, etc.) are scheduled to be released approximately four weeks prior to departure.    Additional tour conditions apply and are listed in the Tour Conditions Section on the Online Application.
