On March 4th, you will depart with Group Leader Michael Phillips, Headmaster of Smith Preparatory Academy and a Director of FCCPSA from Orlando to spend 10 wonderful days discovering the splendors of Italy.  Fantastic excursions, cultural encounters, historical sites, delicious food and shopping make this trip exciting and rewarding.  Bring these amazing memories home with you on March 13th.

Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, and Pisa

March 5 – 9, 2023

 

Upon arrival to Rome on March 5th, you will immediately transfer to Florence. As birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence will thrill you with its treasures.  During a walking tour of the city* on March 6th you will see many of the important sights of this historic town including Santa Maria Novella, the Duomo, and the eight-sided Baptistry. You will have the rest of the afternoon free to explore sights of your choosing such as the Boboli Gardens, shopping in the straw market and open-air market, visiting a leather factory and strolling across the Ponte-Vecchio to see the gold and silver shops. On March 7th, a highlight of your Italian adventure will be an excursion to Siena and San Gimignano where you will take a step back in time to Medieval Tuscany, before returning to Florence this evening. An excursion to Pisa is planned on March 8th. Take your photo in front of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa!  On March 9th, a morning visit is planned to the Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David and Uffizi Gallery*, Italy’s greatest art gallery. This afternoon bid farewell to Florence as you continue to Rome.

Rome

March 9 – 13, 2023

After checking into your hotel, enjoy time exploring this beautiful city. On March 10th, Rome will welcome you with a morning guided visit of the Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s Basilica.  The afternoon will take you, led by Mr. Phillips, for a walking tour of the historic district where you will see such places as the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona and the Colosseum & Forum.   A full day excursion is planned for March 11th, where you will visit the ancient village and historic site of Pompeii. Here, the Roman Empire speaks directly to you through glimpses of ancient everyday life and real people frozen in time since the city’s burial by Mt. Vesuvius in A.D. 79. The nearly 2000-year old excavations and ruins will amaze you.   Your final day, March 12th is devoted to local sightseeing with Michael Phillips, your Tour Leader,  and/or free for personal shopping, sightseeing and exploration.  You may optionally wish to visit such sights as San Pietro in Vincoli, Castle Sant Angelo or many others. Dinner is included tonight.  On March 13th, you will depart for your return flight to the United States with unforgettable memories of your Italian journey!

 

 

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS

**The estimated tour price, if payments are made by cash or check, is $4385.; (Airfare included) otherwise, if paying by credit card, the standard estimated non-discounted price is $4485. (Airfare Included). .  A $500.00 non-refundable (for ANY reason) initial deposit is required to reserve your space on this tour. All tour participants must submit an online application. Please go to “Student/Traveler Sign Up” on the home page at www.EAtours.com. Your tour number is 223118.  If you wish to use a credit card for your initial deposit, you will be allowed to pay the remaining payments by check and still receive the discounted tour price. A second payment of $500.00, will be due no later than 90 days after your initial payment. Final payments are due no later than seventy (70) days before departure. The trip is based on triple occupancy and includes round trip airfare from Orlando, point-to point transportation between cities while in Europe, all breakfasts, and 2 dinners. Additionally, *Entrance fees and/or transportation marked with an asterisk as well as Guided tours in Florence and Rome are included in the tour price (Accademia, Uffizi Gallery, Colosseum and Forum, Vatican Museums, St. Peters Basilica and excursions to Siena, San Gimignano Pisa and Pompeii).   A land only price (without airfare) is available upon request.

 

Regardless of the reason, if a tour departure is cancelled for ANY reason(s) which are beyond the control of EA Tours, the tour conditions (amended or otherwise) apply, WITHOUT EXCEPTION.

 

Additional items may be offered optionally, are subject to availability and are not included in the tour price. A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $636. per person. A guaranteed twin room may be available for a supplemental charge of160. per person. Included are the estimated applicable governmental international airline ticket taxes, fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and associated fees. If applicable, unforeseen tax increases will be billed on a supplemental invoice.
