Rome and Florence

May 28 – June 4, 2023

 

May 28 – Depart the USA for Italy.

 

May 29 – Upon your arrival in Italy, you will take a coach to Ostia and then to your Rome hotel for check-in. An evening walking tour* around the Colosseum and Ludus Magnus will be before dinner at Pasqualino al Colosseo.  Dinner* is included.

 

May 30 – Begin today with a walking tour* beginning at the Circus Maximus and concluding in the ghetto (covers Circus Maximus, Santa Maria in Cosmedin, Forum Boarium, Arch of Janus, San Nicola in Carcere, Tiber Island, Temple of Apollo Sosianus, Theater of Marcellus, Portico of Octavia, Capitoline Insula, and the ghetto. Could include Baths of Caracalla if time and energy allow. Afterwards, visit the Capitoline Museum*. Dinner* is included. Evening walk along Via dei Fori Imperiali.

 

May 31 – Today you will enjoy a full day excursion in Florence. Highlights of your time in Florence are such activities as a privately guided walking tour, entrance to the Academy to see the David by Michelangelo*, the Duomo Cathedral and Baptistry and Uffizi Gallery.  You will return to Rome later afternoon / early evening.

 

June 1 – Visit the Colosseum and Roman Forum*, led by local guide.   After lunch, take the metro to Piazza d’ Spagna for a break and window shopping. Late this afternoon, you have an appointment at the Galleria Borghese*.

 

June 2 – Start today with a visit to the Vatican Museum*, with a tour led by a local guide with whispers.  This will include St. Peter’s Basilica & Square. After lunch in the Borgo, visit the Castel Sant’Angelo*. Explore the Piazza Navona before you return to your hotel. A group dinner* is included tonight.

 

June – Tour the Basilica di San Clemente*. Then, you will enjoy a bike tour* of the Appian Way and Parco degli Acquedotti (3-4 hours).  This afternoon, you will explore the Pantheon and perhaps throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain.

 

June 4 – Depart for your flight back to the United States with unforgettable memories of your journey!

 

 

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS

 

**The estimated tour price, if payments are made by cash or check, is $3,890; otherwise, if paying by credit card, the standard non-discounted price is $3990.00.  If you wish to use a credit card for your initial deposit, you will be allowed to pay the remaining payments by check and still receive the discounted tour price. Trip price is based on triple occupancy and includes round trip airfare from Ohio, point-to-point transportation between cities while in Europe, all breakfasts and 3 dinners.  Additionally, *Entrance fees and/or transportation marked with an asterisk as well as city tours in Rome and Florence are included in the tour price (Capitoline Museum, Colosseum and Forum, Galleria Borghese, Vatican Museum, St. Peter’s Basilica, Castel Sant’Angelo, Basilica di San Clemente, bike tour and an excursion to Florence). In the unlikely event that EA Tours cancels the tour and is unable to operate a substitute itinerary, the tour cost including the initial deposit is fully refundable. Additional items may be offered optionally, are subject to availability and are not included in the tour price.  A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $550.  A guaranteed twin room may be available for a supplemental charge of $380.00 per person. Included are the estimated applicable governmental international airline ticket taxes, fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and associated fees. If applicable, unforeseen tax increases will be billed on a supplemental invoice. A minimum number of paying participants may be required to operate the tour. A $500.00 non-refundable (for any reason) application fee / deposit is required to reserve your space on this tour. All tour participants must submit an online application.
