Fantastic excursions, cultural encounters, preserved historical sites, delicious foods and wonderful shopping make this trip exciting and rewarding. Bring these memories home with you on October 17.

 Toulouse

October 5-6, 2022

Upon arriving in Toulouse on October 5, you will be met by a private coach for a transfer to your hotel for check-in; dedicate this afternoon to free time.  While in Toulouse you will be immersed in French culture as you discover all the amazing sights this city has to offer.  October 6 travel to Carcassonne where you will enjoy a guided city tour*, free time for shopping and lunch before returning to Toulouse this afternoon.

Sarlat

October 7-10, 2022

October 7 bid farewell to Toulouse as you travel to Sarlat via Albi.  Upon arrival in Albi enjoy a guided city tour* with visits to Sainte-Cecile Cathedral* and gardens, the Toulouse Lautrec Museum* and the gardens of Berbie Palace. After lunch* depart for Sarlat via Cordes sur Ciel and Cahors communes. On the morning of October 8 visit a local Sarlat market where black truffles, wild mushrooms and cheeses are in abundance. An excursion is planned to Beynac with a guided tour of Chateau de Beynac*. Your Sarlat adventure continues as you enjoy a Dordogne River cruise*, enjoy stops at villages along the river on your return to Sarlat. October 9 begins with a guided tour * of the National Museum of Prehistory*, and a tour of Grotte de Font-de-Gaume* followed by lunch.  This cave contains the finest prehistoric paintings still open to the public in France and allows very limited numbers of visitors per day. Visits today also include Lascaux IV* caves museum and Abri du Cap Blanc* rock shelter containing ancient animal sculptures. October 10 enjoy an excursion to Rocamadour commune where you will enjoy a guided city tour*, followed by an afternoon of free time to explore the area on your own before your return to Sarlat.

 

Bordeaux

October 11-13, 2022

October 11 bid farewell to Sarlat traveling to Bordeaux where a guided tour* of Saint Emilion* and lunch is planned en-route. October 12 you will see area points of interest that includes the Esplanade des Quinconces, Place de la Bourse and a classical masterpiece – the Grand Theatre as well as beautiful churches, fashionable boutiques and famous cafes on your guided city tour*.  This afternoon wine tours* are planned at Chateau d’Issan and Chateau du Taillan. October 13 travel to Chateau Marquis de Vauban to enjoy lunch*; after lunch you will enjoy wine tasting* and a guided walking tour* of Citadelle de Blaye*.

Saumur

October 14-17, 2022

On the morning of October 14, you will depart Bordeaux continuing your expedition to Saumur. Upon afternoon arrival in Saumur you will have time to visit one of the many chateaus, churches and museums this historic town has to offer.  October 15 an excursion is planned to the remarkable medieval town of Chinon where you will spend the day sightseeing with your tour leader. This afternoon discover the Cadre noir of Saumur with a guided tour*. The morning of October 16 visit Abbey Royale de Frontevraud* burial place of Richard the Lion-Hearted. Afternoon visits are planned to French Renaissance castle Azay-le-Rideau* and a guided tour* of Château de Langeais. On October 17, you will board a plane bound for home with souvenirs, memories, and perhaps a photo or two in tow marking the end of your European adventure.

 

Carol Rice is offering an optional Paris extension for those who are interested. You will need to let EA Tours know on your application submission if you are planning to purchase the extension.

October 17-20, 2022

Paris waits to greet you on October 17 with all the charm and the elegance for which it is famous.  The Eiffel Tower and Place de la Concorde are among a few of the important sights in this “City of Light” you may see. Cruise the Seine River on the Bateaux Mouches. Take the time to explore the beautiful city of Paris optionally visit such sites as Saint Chapelle, the Latin Quarter or Conciergerie. Enjoy time at leisure for shopping and enjoying the charm of the elegant boulevards and outdoor cafes. Explore the Louvre, Musee d’Orsay, Musee de l’Orangerie, walk the Champs-Elyees or visit the Arc de Triomphe. Bring tales of your exciting European adventures home with you when you return to the United States on October 20.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: ** The tour price, if payments are made by cash or check, is $4,370.00; otherwise, if paying by credit card, the standard non-discounted price is $4,470.00.  The optional extension tour price to Paris if payments are made by cash or check, is $1270.00; otherwise, if paying by credit card, the standard non-discounted price is $1,370.00. If you wish to use a credit card for your initial deposit, you will be allowed to pay the remaining payments by check and still receive the discounted tour price. Trip price is based on double occupancy and includes point-to point transportation between cities while in France, all breakfasts and 2 lunches.  Additionally, transportation and/or *entrance fees marked with an asterisk and guided city tours in Carcassone, Albi, Rocamador and Bordeaux are included in the tour price (St, Cecile Cathedral, Toulouse Lautrec Museum, Chateau de Beynac, Dordogne River Cruise, National Museum of Prehistory, Grotte de Font-de-Gaume, Lascaux IV, Abri du Cap Blanc, Saint Emilion, wine tour/tasting at Chateau d’Issan and Chateau du Taillan, Citadelle de Blaye, Cadre noir of Saumur, Abbey Royale de Frontevraud, Azay-le-Rideau, and Chateau de Langeais). In the unlikely event that EA Tours cancels the tour and is unable to operate a substitute itinerary, the tour cost including the initial deposit is fully refundable. Additional items may be offered optionally, are subject to availability and are not included in the tour price.  A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $1,170.00.  A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $380.00 for the Paris extension. Included are the estimated applicable governmental international taxes, fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and associated fees. If applicable, unforeseen tax increases will be billed on a supplemental invoice. A minimum number of paying participants may be required to operate the tour.  A $1000.00 non-refundable initial deposit is required to reserve your space on this tour. PLEASE NOTE:   Very specific conditions relating to Covid 19 apply and are listed in the Tour Conditions of the online Participation Agreement and Application at eatours.com.  At the time of the printing of this brochure, the French government mandates that, in order to gain-entry into museums, shops/stores, historic sites, restaurants, etc., proof of full vaccination be shown.   As a result of this governmental regulation, in order to participate on this tour, all tour participants are required to be fully vaccinated. In Europe fully vaccinated includes a booster. In addition, a negative COVID 19 test may be required to be shown within 72 hours of departure for the USA. If the COVID 19 test requirement is still in effect before returning to the USA, the cost of the test is at additional cost and is to be paid directly to the testing location by the tour participant. EA Tours expects to assist with making arrangements for the test but is not responsible for the payment. Currently, the cost for COVID 19 test is approximately $25.00 per person and is a rapid antigen test.
