Sorrento, Capri, Amalfi, Ravello, Paestum, Pompeii & Rome
July 4-11, 2021
Day 1-Sunday-July 4, 2021
Today you will depart on your overnight flight to Europe. Naturally meals will be served, and optional in-flight entertainment will be offered.
Day 2-Monday-July 5, 2021
Upon your arrival in Rome, you will be met by your private coach and transfer directly to Sorrento, a well-developed holiday resort along the most visited route in Campania. After hotel check in evening sightseeing is planned with your tour leader. Dinner is included this evening.
Day 3-Tuesday-July 6, 2021
Dedicate today for an excursion to the Isle of Capri. While enjoying this beautiful island you may enjoy an island cruise including the Blue Grotto, or ascend to Ana Capri for optional visits to Augustus’ gardens, Tiberius’ villas and Mount Solaro before returning to Sorrento this evening.
Day 4-Wednesday-July 7, 2021
Begin today with an excursion to visit Amalfi Coast including Amalfi, Positano, and Ravello where you will visit the 13th century Villa Rufolo with its amazing gardens and scenery.
Day 5-Thursday-July 8, 2021
Your adventure continues with a journey to Paestum for a wine-tasting lunch before spending the afternoon visiting the archeological site of Paestum. Here you will see the temples of Athena, Hera and Neptune before returning to Sorrento this evening.
Day 6-Friday-July 9, 2021
Depart Sorrento for Rome with a visit to Pompeii en-route, where the ancient Roman Empire speaks directly to you with its everyday life and real people frozen in time since its burial by Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. You will see 2000-year-old take-out restaurants, frescoes, mosaics and ancient graffiti. Dedicate this evening to exploring Rome with your tour leader to include such sights as the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain, Piazza Navona and much more. Dinner is included this evening.
Day 7-Saturday-July 10, 2021
Begin today with a guided city tour including the Colosseum and Forum. Later this afternoon you will enjoy a guided visit of the Vatican Museums including St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. This evening your Italian adventure will culminate with a farewell dinner to celebrate your time in Italy.
Day 8-Sunday-July 11, 2021
Today, you will board a plane bound for home with souvenirs, memories, and perhaps a photo or two in tow marking the end of your Italian adventure.
