On March 27th, you will depart New Orleans on a flight bound for Washington, D.C. Immerse yourself in the history of our nation’s capital which will leave you with a deeper pride and understanding of American History. Museum encounters, memorial visits, and preserved historical sites make this trip exciting and rewarding.  Bring these memories home with you on March 30th.

March 27, 2020

On March 27th, you will arrive at our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Your private motor coach and tour leader will meet you on arrival at the airport.  After lunch*, you will visit the new Sept. 11th Memorial* at the Pentagon before traversing Arlington National Cemetery by tram*. Arlington is the final resting place for countless American heroes.  Here, witness the solemn Changing of the Guards Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Dinner* tonight will be followed by free time for shopping at Union Station before arriving at your hotel.

 

March 28, 2020

This morning, you will visit many of the memorials* dedicated to the pride and sacrifice of the American people including the: Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean and WWII Memorials. Afterwards, you will stop for a photo opportunity in front of the White House, the official residence and workplace of the President of the United States. It is the oldest federal building in the nation’s capital with 132 rooms and totals approximately 55,000 square feet. Later, there will be an opportunity to visit the Library of Congress* before you tour of one of the seats of power in our nation, the US Capitol Building*. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met at the Capitol for over 200 years. From there, you will experience a humbling visit to the Holocaust Museum*, both a touching and vivid reminder of those who were persecuted and a supplication against such inhumanity. Dinner* tonight is at Hard Rock Café* followed by an Illumination Tour of Memorials MLK, JR, FDR, and Jefferson*.

 

March 29, 2020

Today begins with Sunday mass at a local church. After mass, visit your choice of Smithsonian Museums*. There are more than 137 million objects, works of art and specimens at the Smithsonian Museums and Galleries, so there is something for everyone. You will then enjoy exploring the National Archives* where you will view some of the most important documents in our nation’s history including The Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and the Constitution. Later, a visit to Ford’s Theatre* will showcase our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln’s presidency, assassination, and legacy. Dinner* tonight is included with bowling* at one of DC’s favorite bowling venues.

 

March 30, 2020

Begin today with a trip to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park*, one of the oldest zoos in the United States and currently home to more than 1,500 animals across 300 different species. From there, you will visit the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum*, where you can find the Wright 1903 Flyer and the Apollo 11 command module Columbia. From there, you will depart for the airport and your flight home, taking along with you memories, souvenirs, and a deeper pride and appreciation for American History.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The anticipated/projected tour price of $1,585.00 is based on four persons to a room and includes roundtrip airline transportation (subject to confirmation) from New Orleans, hotel, 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 3 dinners, sightseeing, entrance fees if required and motor-coach transportation, where applicable. *At the time of printing of this brochure, the applicable airfares required for the travel dates are not yet available. Thus, the total tour price may be subject to increase and is beyond the control of EA Tours. Sightseeing visits INCLUDE guide and entrance fees (if applicable) to the September 11th Pentagon Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery (including tram), White House photo op, Library of Congress, US Capitol Tour, Holocaust Museum, Memorial Tours, Smithsonian Museums, National Archives, Ford’s Theatre, bowling, and the Smithsonian Zoo). Please note that all above-mentioned scheduled activities are subject to change or cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. availability, weather, traffic, etc.). A minimum number of paying tour participants, travelling together, may be required for the tour offering to remain valid. A guaranteed triple room may be available for a supplemental charge of $70.00 per person. A guaranteed twin room may be available for a supplemental charge of $145.00 per person. A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $415.00. The applicable tour conditions are listed on the online application. Additional payments are due as follows: October 18th – $260.00, November 22nd – $260.00, December 20th – $260.00, January 17th – $260.00, and February 10th – $285.00.
