On January 16th, you will depart Miami on a flight bound for New York. New York City is one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world. Times Square is the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway District, one of the world’s biggest pedestrian intersections, and a major center of the world’s entertainment industry. The city hosts many world renowned bridges, skyscrapers and parks. Museum encounters, Broadway shows and preserved historical sites make this trip exciting and rewarding. Bring these memories home with you on January 19th.

Please submit your application and $800 deposit, payable to Gulliver Academy, to Ms. Sasso in the Activities Office. The deposit is due by Monday, September 23rd!

 

NEW YORK, NEW YORK

 

January 16, 2020

Upon arrival in New York, you will be met by your private coach and transfer to your hotel. After checking into the hotel, you will depart for lunch in Times Square*. From there, you will partake in a NBC Studio Tour*, where you will get a behind-the-scenes look into the broadcasting world. Afterwards, your guided sightseeing tour* will introduce you to such sights as Central Park, Battery Park, Wall Street and Rockefeller Center. A pizza and calzones dinner buffet is on the menu at Times Square’s famous John’s Pizzeria*. Tonight, you will see the Broadway Play “To Kill a Mockingbird”°, which features one of literature’s towering symbols of integrity and righteousness in the character of Atticus Finch, based on the writer Harper Lee’s own father. A group photo* will follow.

 

January 17, 2020

Start your day with a hot breakfast at Applebee’s*. From there, you will visit the National September 11 Memorial & Museum*, a memorial built to honor and remember those killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Delight in New York shopping and a visit to SoHo this morning before lunch*. This afternoon will be dedicated to sight-seeing with your chaperones, where you may visit a museum or two before dinner*. “Wicked”° will be the Broadway highlight tonight, featuring the story of two unlikely friends who grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

 

January 18, 2020

Following breakfast*, you may have the opportunity to talk with actors and actresses who are now on Broadway! After lunch*, you will experience a Saturday Broadway matinee with the play “Oklahoma”°, featuring the story of a farm girl, Laurey Williams, and her courtship by two rival suitors. After the play, please make your way toward the stage to participate in a talk back° session with member(s) from the cast and crew. Enjoy dinner* tonight before you see the Broadway Play “Tootsie”°, a musical that tells the story of a talented, but volatile actor whose reputation for being difficult forces him to adopt a new identity as a woman in order to land a job.

 

January 19, 2020

After a hot breakfast*, you will be treated to a hands on interaction with a New York actor and a makeup artist during a workshop at a New York studio*. These workshops will provide you with a fun and challenging introduction to the world of acting and theatre makeup.  A deli lunch* will be provided, after which you will board your coach for a ride to the airport for your flight home, taking with you memories of this amazing journey.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The tour price of $2,375.00 per person is to be paid to Gulliver Academy by check or cash and is based on four to a room and includes round trip airfare from Miami, airport transfers, panoramic sightseeing tour, 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches, and 3 dinners as well as applicable entrance fees for group activities (4 Broadway Plays, Broadway Talk Back, NBC Studio Tour, National September 11 Memorial and Museum, makeup and acting workshops and group photo). EA Tours reserves the right to change the itinerary if necessary due to circumstances beyond our control, e.g. traffic, weather, etc. A minimum number of paying participants may be required to operate the tour. Theatre related items (marked with °) are subject to availability (Broadway Play substitutions may be used in the event a play in the brochure is unavailable). The applicable tour conditions are listed on the application, which must be signed and submitted in order to be eligible for the trip. Updated tour details (hotels, day by day itinerary, flights etc.) are scheduled to be released approximately four weeks prior to departure.   Included in your tour price are applicable airline taxes and associated fees including the cost of one piece of checked luggage per person round trip.
