On April 5th, you will depart San Francisco to begin your European adventure, landing in the timeless city of Amsterdam on April 6th and discovering the hidden treasures of this city.  Fantastic excursions, cultural encounters, preserved historical sites, delicious foods and wonderful shopping make this trip exciting and rewarding.  Bring these memories home with you on April 13th.

Amsterdam

April 6 – 9, 2020

On April 6th, you will arrive in Amsterdam to begin your European adventure. A highlight of this day will be a guided walking city tour* after checking into your hotel. Built on a network of centuries-old canals, Amsterdam is a delightful city. The largest and most cosmopolitan city of the Netherlands, it is also the diamond-cutting capital of the world.  Before closing the evening, you will visit the Anne Frank House*, where Anne Frank took refuge during the Nazi invasion of World War II and wrote her famous diary. Exploring the Rijksmuseum*, Stedelijk Museum* and Van Gogh Museum* with your tour leader will be the highlight of April 7th. Dedicate the remainder of the day with visits to the Flower Market, Dam Square and Rembrandt Square.  On April 8th, you will embark on a full day excursion to the Hague*, where you will visit Escher in the Palace* and Mauritshuis*, seeing beauty abundantly displayed in art and architecture. This evening marvel at the natural sights on the Canal Cruise (free to those who submit their application and deposit by the deadline).  April 9th you will enjoy an exciting excursion through the Dutch countryside to visit the villages of Zaanse Schans* and Volendam* before boarding your train for Paris.

 

 

Paris

April 9 – 13, 2020

Depart Amsterdam on April 9th for Paris, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, where you will see famous landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees and Place de la Concord en-route to your hotel. Enjoy a walking city tour* on April 10th and explore area points of interest such as the Louvre* (the world’s largest art museum), housing such legends as the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory and the Mona Lisa. This afternoon see the “City of Light” from atop the Eiffel Tower* and enjoy visits to Musee d’Orsay*, where various artistic movements represented include Academism, Realism, Impressionism, Symbolism and Art nouveau. On the morning of April 11th enjoy visits to Conciergerie*, once a royal palace transformed into a prison in the late 14th century where Queen Marie Antoinette was held captive until her death, and St. Chapelle*, an amazing example of the gothic architecture and the most beautiful stained glass in all of Paris. This afternoon explore points of interest with your tour leader such as the Pompidou Center*, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur and Montmartre.  April 12th, you will travel outside of Paris to Versailles*, home to Louis XIV, the Sun King. The opulent Palace and the surrounding grounds will astound you! Upon returning to Paris this evening, you will be enjoying your farewell dinner* aboard a Seine River Cruise*.  The following morning, April 13th, you will return to the United States with fond memories, amazing experiences and perhaps a souvenir or two from your European adventure.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The estimated tour price, if payments are made by cash or check, is $2,995.00; otherwise, if paying by credit card, the standard estimated non-discounted price is $3,095.00.  If you wish to use a credit card for your initial deposit, you will be allowed to pay the remaining payments by check and still receive the discounted tour price. Trip price is based on triple occupancy and includes round trip airfare from San Francisco, point-to point transportation between cities while in Europe, all breakfasts and 3 dinners. Additionally, *Entrance fees and/or transportation marked with an asterisk as well as city tours in Amsterdam and Paris are included in the tour price (Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House, Stedelijk Museum, Mauritshuis, Escher in the Palace, excursion to Zaanse Schans and Volendam, Pompidou Center, Musee d’Orsay, the Eiffel Tower, Conciergerie, St Chapelle, Louvre, Palace of Versailles, and a Seine Dinner Cruise). In the unlikely event that EA Tours cancels the tour and is unable to operate a substitute itinerary, the tour cost including the initial deposit is fully refundable. Additional items may be offered optionally, are subject to availability and are not included in the tour price.  A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $855.00 per person. A guaranteed twin room may be available for a supplemental charge of $270.00 per person. Included are the estimated applicable governmental international airline ticket taxes, fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and associated fees. If applicable, unforeseen tax increases will be billed on a supplemental invoice. A minimum number of paying participants may be required to operate the tour.
