On March 8th, you will depart New Orleans on a flight bound for our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Your private motor coach and tour leader will meet you on arrival at the airport. After lunch*, you will traverse Arlington National Cemetery* by tram. Arlington is the final resting place for countless American heroes. Here, witness the solemn Changing of the Guards Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where you will participate in a Wreath Laying Ceremony*. This afternoon, you will visit many of the memorials* dedicated to the pride and sacrifice of the American people including: the Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean and WWII Memorials. This will be followed by dinner* before checking into your hotel.

This morning, depart for a visit to additional important memorials* such as the FDR, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Jefferson Memorials. This will be followed by a visit to the Smithsonian Museums* and Galleries. There are more than 137 million objects, works of art and specimens at the Smithsonian Museums and Galleries, so there is something for everyone. Later, there will be an opportunity to a visit the Library of Congress* before you tour one of the seats of power in our nation, the US Capitol Building*. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met at the Capitol for over 200 years. You will then enjoy exploring the National Archives* where you will view some of the most important documents in our nation’s history including The Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Constitution. Dinner* tonight is at the Hard Rock Café. Following dinner, enjoy an exciting Alexandria Ghost and Graveyard Tour*!

Today begins with Sunday mass at a local church. After mass, you will visit the Newseum*, where numerous local and national broadcasts have been filmed. Exhibits at the museum will highlight the day’s newspapers from all over the world, as well as other exhibits like the September 11th exhibit, 4-D immersion theatres and hands-on exhibits. After lunch*, there will be time for exploring with your tour leader, including the Smithsonian Museum of American History, a possible to visit the Gallery of Art and a White House photo opportunity. This evening is dedicated to a night of fun enjoying dinner and bowling* at one of DC’s favorite bowling venues.

This morning you will journey to Mount Vernon*, George Washington’s estate and resting place. Your guide will direct you through Washington’s home, tomb and the many buildings which helped to run this large estate. You will also participate in a wreath-laying ceremony* at George Washington’s tomb. After lunch*, you will experience a humbling visit to the Holocaust Museum*, both a touching and vivid reminder of those who were persecuted and a supplication against such inhumanity. Afterwards, you will depart for home, taking along with you memories, souvenirs, and a deeper pride and appreciation for American History.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The anticipated/projected tour price of $1,200.00 is based on 30 or more paying tour participants traveling together on the itinerary as outlined. *At the time of printing of this brochure, the airfares for the dates applicable for this departure on Southwest are not yet announced. We anticipate Southwest airfare and confirmation to be available approximately September 1st. Thus, the total tour price may be subject to increase and is beyond the control of EA Tours. However, a significant increase is not anticipated. The tour price is based on four persons to a room and includes roundtrip airline transportation (subject to confirmation) from New Orleans, hotel accommodations, 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 3 dinners, sightseeing, entrance fees if required and motor-coach transportation, where applicable. Sightseeing visits INCLUDE guide and entrance fees (if applicable) to Arlington National Cemetery and Tram, the Smithsonian Museums, Library of Congress, Capitol Tour, National Archives, Ghost Tour, Newseum, bowling, Mount Vernon, Holocaust Museum and a guided tours of the national memorials. Please note that all above-mentioned scheduled activities are subject to change or cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. availability, weather, traffic, etc.). A guaranteed twin or triple may be available for a supplemental charge. The applicable tour conditions are listed on the online application. There is a $150.00 non-refundable deposit due to be eligible for the trip. To register you can visit the “student/traveler signup” page on our website at www.EAtours.com. The tour number for your group is 219220. A 2nd payment of $150.00 will be due July 1st, and the 1st of every subsequent month through December 1st (for 6 additional payments). The final payment of $150.00 is due no later than January 1, 2019. Additional details will be supplied approximately 30 days before departure.
