Continue your journey to our nation’s capital, which will leave you with a deeper pride and understanding of American History. Museum encounters, memorial visits, and preserved historical sites make this trip exciting and rewarding. Bring these memories home with you on April 2nd.

This morning, depart Orlando on a flight bound for Philadelphia, PA. Upon your arrival, you will have the chance to visit Independence Hall*, the birthplace of both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. After lunch, you will travel to the National Constitution Center*, a state-of-the-art museum dedicated to the study of the U.S. Constitution. From there, take a stroll along Independence Mall before your tour at the University of Pennsylvania*. After dinner tonight, you will say goodbye to Philadelphia as you travel to our nation’s capital, Washington, DC!

This morning, you will journey to Mount Vernon*, George Washington’s estate and resting place. Travel through Washington’s historic home, tomb and the many buildings which helped to run this large estate. From there, enjoy a visit to the Smithsonian Museums and Galleries*. There are more than 137 million objects, works of art and specimens at the Smithsonian Museums and Galleries, so there is something for everyone. After dinner, tour some of the memorials such as the Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean, and WWII Memorials.

Begin today with a trip to the Newseum*, where numerous local and national broadcasts have been filmed. Exhibits at the museum will highlight the day’s newspapers from all over the world, as well as other exhibits like the September 11th exhibit, 4-D immersion theatres and hands-on exhibits. Later, you will tour one of the seats of power in our nation, the US Capitol Building*. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met at the Capitol for over 200 years. This afternoon, you will experience a humbling visit to the Holocaust Museum*, both a touching and vivid reminder of those who were persecuted and a supplication against such inhumanity. Dinner tonight will be followed by a tour of some of the memorials including the Jefferson, FDR and MLK Jr. Memorials.

This morning, you will travel to Georgetown University* where you will enjoy a campus tour* led by a current student. Afterwards, a tour of John Hopkins University* is scheduled. After lunch, make your way to the White House for a fantastic photo opportunity. This will be followed by a visit to Ford’s Theatre and Lincoln Center*, which will showcase the 16th President, Abraham Lincoln, and his presidency, assassination and legacy. From there, you will visit the September 11th Memorial* at the Pentagon.

The morning will be spent participating in a Volunteer Service Program*. From there, you will continue to Arlington National Cemetery*, the final resting place for countless American heroes. Here, witness the solemn Changing of the Guards Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. After lunch, you will explore the National Archives* where you will view some of the most important documents in our nation’s history including The Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. Afterwards, depart for home taking along with you memories, souvenirs, and a deeper pride and appreciation for American History.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: The tour price of $1,489.00 is based on four persons to a room and includes roundtrip airline transportation from Orlando, FL, hotel, 4 breakfasts and 5 dinners, sightseeing, metro card, train, entrance fees if required and coach transportation, where applicable. Anticipated sites to be visited (including entrance fees if applicable) include Independence Mall, National Constitution Center, University of Pennsylvania Tour, Mount Vernon, Smithsonians, memorials, Newseum, Capitol Tour, Holocaust Museum, Georgetown University Tour, John Hopkins University Tour, White House photo op, Ford’s Theatre, Pentagon Memorial, Volunteer Service Program, Arlington National Cemetery and the National Archives. Please note that all above-mentioned scheduled activities are subject to change or cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. availability, weather, traffic, etc.). Twin and triple rooming requests may be available for a supplemental charge per person. Included are the estimated applicable governmental airline ticket taxes, fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and associated fees. The applicable tour conditions are listed on the online application. There is a $500.00 non-refundable deposit due to be eligible for the trip.
