Immerse yourself in the history of our nation’s capital which will leave you with a deeper pride and understanding of American History. Museum encounters, memorial visits, and preserved historical sites make this trip exciting and rewarding.  Bring these memories home with you on March 25th.

March 22, 2019

On March 22nd, you will arrive at our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Your private motor coach and tour leader will meet you on arrival at the airport.  After lunch, you will traverse Arlington National Cemetery* by tram. Arlington is the final resting place for countless American heroes.  Here, witness the solemn Changing of the Guards Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Dinner tonight will be followed by free time for shopping at Union Station before arriving at your hotel.

 

March 23, 2019

This morning, you will visit many of the memorials* dedicated to the pride and sacrifice of the American people including the: Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean and WWII Memorials. Afterwards, you will take of tour of the White House*, the official residence and workplace of the President of the United States. It is the oldest federal building in the nation’s capital with 132 rooms and totals approximately 55,000 square feet. A tour of one of the seats of power in our nation, the US Capitol Building*, is planned after lunch. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met at the Capitol for over 200 years. A tour of the Supreme Court* is also planned today. It is the final judge in all cases involving laws of Congress, and the highest law of all — the Constitution. You will then enjoy exploring the National Archives* where you will view some of the most important documents in our nation’s history including The Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Constitution. Dinner tonight is at Hard Rock Café* followed by an Illumination Tour of Memorials MLK, JR, FDR, and Jefferson*.

 

March 24, 2019

Today begins with Sunday Mass at a local church. After mass, visit your choice of Smithsonian Museums*. There are more than 137 million objects, works of art and specimens at the Smithsonian Museums and Galleries, so there is something for everyone. Following lunch, you will experience a humbling visit to the Holocaust Museum*, both a touching and vivid reminder of those who were persecuted and a supplication against such inhumanity. Later, a visit to Ford’s Theatre* will showcase our 16th President Abraham Lincoln’s presidency, assassination, and legacy. Dinner* tonight is included with bowling* at one of DC’s favorite bowling venues.

 

March 25, 2019

Begin today with a trip to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park*, one of the oldest zoos in the United States and currently home to more than 1,500 animals across 300 different species. You will then visit the Bureau of Engraving and Printing*, which produces the United States currency notes, operates as the nation’s central bank, and serves to ensure that adequate amounts of currency and coin are in circulation. Later you will visit the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum*, where you will get the chance to enjoy zooming through the cosmos at a planetarium show*. From there, you will depart for the airport and your flight home, taking along with you memories, souvenirs, and a deeper pride and appreciation for American History.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The tour price of $1,585.00 is based on four persons to a room and includes roundtrip airline transportation (subject to confirmation) from New Orleans, hotel, 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 3 dinners, sightseeing, entrance fees if required and motor-coach transportation, where applicable. Sightseeing visits INCLUDE guide and entrance fees (if applicable) to the Arlington National Cemetery (including tram), White House Tour, Capitol Tour, National Archives, Supreme Court, Memorial Tours, Smithsonian Museums, Holocaust Museum, Ford’s Theatre, bowling, Smithsonian Zoo, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and a planetarium show). Please note that all above-mentioned scheduled activities are subject to change or cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. availability, weather, traffic, etc.). A minimum number of paying tour participants, travelling together, may be required for the tour offering to remain valid. A guaranteed single or twin may be available for a supplemental charge.
