On November 14th, you will depart Tampa on a flight bound for Washington, DC. Immerse yourself in the history of our nation’s capital, which will leave you with a deeper pride and understanding of American History. Museum encounters, memorial visits, and preserved historical sites make this trip exciting and rewarding. Bring these memories home with you on November 17th.

Upon your arrival to Washington, DC you will be met by your private motor coach to begin your exciting, patriotic adventure. You will transfer to your hotel for check in, then continue by metro* for a visit to Arlington National Cemetery*, resting place for so many American heroes. Here, witness Kennedy’s Eternal Flame and the solemn Changing of the Guards Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. You will also visit the memorials dedicated to the Space Shuttles Columbia and Challenger following the ceremony. You will then partake in a humbling experience at the Holocaust Museum*, both a touching and vivid reminder of those who were persecuted and a supplication against such inhumanity. After dinner*, you will return to your hotel for the night.

This morning will begin with a visit to the Pentagon Memorial*, a permanent outdoor memorial to the victims of September 11th. You will then have time to explore the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History*, where the Hope Diamond is currently on display. Following lunch*, you will visit one of the highlights of your patriotic journey, the National Archives*, where you will view some of the most important documents in our nation’s history, including The Declaration of Independence. Next is a visit to the Newseum*, where you can witness today’s front page news from all over the World, visit the 4-D theatre, and a number of exhibits including the 9/11 exhibit. Dinner* will precede a visit to some of the many memorials dedicated to the pride and sacrifice of the American people, such as the Jefferson, FDR and MLK Memorials*, before returning to your hotel.

After breakfast, you will make your way to the White House for a fantastic photo opportunity. This will be followed by a visit to Ford’s Theatre and Lincoln Center*, which will showcase the 16th President, Abraham Lincoln, and his presidency, assassination and legacy. You will continue your day with a scheduled visit to the Capitol Building*. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met at the Capitol for over 200 years. You will have time to appreciate the stunning architecture of the Capitol as well as the spirit of the nation and government it represents. Enjoy lunch* at the Capitol, followed by a guided tour*. You will then view the Library of Congress*, followed by a visit to the Supreme Court*, which is the final judge in all cases involving laws of Congress, and the highest law of all — the Constitution. Dinner* tonight will be at the Hard Rock Café.

Today, you will visit the Marine Corps War Memorial*, also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial. From there, you will stop at the Washington Monument*, an obelisk on the National Mall, built to commemorate George Washington. The rest of the day will be dedicated to exploring the Smithsonian Museum of American History* and the Smithsonian Museum of Air & Space*. Some of the exhibits you will find at these museums include the original Star Spangled Banner, Julia Child’s kitchen, the Wright 1903 Flyer and the Apollo 11 command module, Columbia. From here you will depart for the airport and your flight home, taking along your memories and a deeper pride and appreciation for American history.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The tour price of $1,185.00 is based on double occupancy and includes roundtrip airline transportation (subject to confirmation) from Tampa, hotel accommodations, 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 3 dinners, sightseeing, metro card, entrance fees if required and motor-coach transportation, where applicable. Sightseeing visits INCLUDE guide and entrance fees (if applicable) to Arlington Cemetery, Holocaust Museum, Pentagon Memorial, Smithsonians, National Archives, Newseum, Memorials tour, White House photo op, Ford’s Theatre, US Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima), and the Washington Monument. Please note that all above-mentioned scheduled activities are subject to change or cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. availability, weather, traffic, etc.) In the unlikely event that EA Tours cancels the tour and is unable to operate a substitute itinerary, the tour cost including the initial deposit is fully refundable. Additional items may be offered optionally, are subject to availability and are not included in the tour price. A guaranteed single may be available, for a supplemental charge, upon request.
