On October 5th, you will depart Orlando on a flight bound for Washington, D.C. Immerse yourself in the history of our nation’s capital which will leave you with a deeper pride and understanding of American History. This morning, depart Orlando on a flight bound for our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Your private motor coach and tour leader will meet you on arrival at the airport. After lunch, you will traverse Arlington National Cemetery*. Arlington is the final resting place for countless American heroes.  Here, witness the solemn Changing of the Guards Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Dinner* tonight will be followed by a moonlight tour* of some of the memorials including the Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Jefferson Memorials.

 

October 6, 2018

This morning, a tour of one of the seats of power in our nation, the US Capitol Building*, is planned. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met at the Capitol for over 200 years. After lunch, you will not want to miss the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum* and the Smithsonian Natural History Museum*. Some of the popular exhibits to be seen include: Dinosaurs, FossiLab and The Hope Diamond. Afterwards, you will visit the Smithsonian American History Museum* which offers exhibits such as the Star Spangled Banner and Julia Child’s kitchen. Time will be available for souvenir shopping before dinner at Hard Rock Café*. This will be followed by free time at the hotel.

 

October 7, 2018

Begin today with a trip to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park*, one of the oldest zoos in the United States and currently home to more than 1,500 animals across 300 different species. Later, you will experience a humbling visit to the Holocaust Museum*, both a touching and vivid reminder of those who were persecuted and a supplication against such inhumanity. Dinner* tonight is included with bowling* at one of DC’s favorite bowling venues. Enjoy a special ice cream treat at Pop’s ice cream* before returning to your hotel.

 

October 8, 2018

This morning you will journey to Mount Vernon*, George Washington’s estate and resting place. Your guide will direct you through Washington’s home, tomb and the many buildings which helped to run this large estate. You will also participate in the flag-raising and wreath-laying* at George Washington’s tomb. After lunch, you will return to DC to explore the National Archives* where you will view some of the most important documents in our nation’s history including The Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. Afterward you depart for home, taking along with you memories, souvenirs, and a deeper pride and appreciation for American History.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: The tour price is based on four persons to a room and includes roundtrip airline transportation from Orlando, FL, hotel, 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 3 dinners, sightseeing, entrance fees if required and private motor-coach transportation. Anticipated sites to be visited (including entrance fees if applicable) include the Arlington National Cemetery, Capitol Tour, Smithsonian Museums and Zoo, Holocaust Museum, Bowling, Mount Vernon, National Archives, and the Memorial Tours. Please note that all above-mentioned scheduled activities are subject to change or cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. availability, weather, traffic, etc.). Twin and triple rooming requests may be available for a supplemental charge per person.  Included are the estimated applicable governmental airline ticket taxes, fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and associated fees.  The applicable tour conditions are listed on the online application.
