Monday, October 1st
Today you depart the United States on your self-arranged flight to Rome.
Tuesday, October 2nd
Upon arrival you will board your private coach for transfer to the hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore, shop or relax.
Wednesday, October 3rd
Your guided tour begins with the Forum, then Palatine Hill followed by the Colosseum and ending at S. Pietro in Vincoli. Your afternoon is free to explore Campidoglio, Capitoline Museums and Victor Emmanuel Monument among other points of interest.
Thursday, October 4th
Today you will meet your guide at the Vatican Museum promptly at 9:00 AM. Following your guided visit, you continue to St. Peter’s Basilica. Points of interest for the afternoon include Castel Sant’Angelo, Piazza Navona, Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain.
Friday, October 5th
A visit to the Borghese Gallery is planned for the morning. Your afternoon is free. Carol will have suggestions.
Saturday, October 6th
At 8:15 AM you will bid Rome goodbye and travel to Sorrento with stops for guided visits at the Naples Archaeological Museum and Pompei en-route.
Sunday, October 7th
The Amalfi Coast with its fantastic scenery is your focus today. Your drive will include stops in Positano, Amalfi and Ravello.
Monday, October 8th
At 9:00 AM you depart Sorrento and travel to your hotel in Citta della Pieve with a stop at Villa Adriana in Tivoli en-route.
Tuesday, October 9th
You depart your hotel at 9:00 AM for a visit to Abbey Sant’Antimo followed a tour, wine tasting and light lunch at Fattoria dei Barbi. The remainder of the day will be spent in Pienza before returning to your hotel.
Wednesday, October 10th
The medieval hilltop town of Montepulciano is your destination today. It is known for its vino nobile red wine. On the Piazza Grande is the 14th-century Palazzo Comunale, with a tower offering views of the surrounding countryside. In the late afternoon you will visit La Foce Garden, named the “Best Garden in Italy”.
Thursday, October 11th
At 9:00 AM you depart Citta della Pieve for travel to Florence. En-route you will stop in Siena for a guided tour and free time.
Friday, October 12th
Your guide will meet you at your hotel at 9:00 AM to begin your walking tour. Inside visits to the Academia and Santa Croce are included.
Saturday, October 13th
Today is a free day to enjoy Florence or, perhaps, visit other nearby towns by train on your own. Some possibilities are Pisa, Lucca, Assisi, Verona or Padua.
Sunday, October 14th
This morning you visit the Uffizzi Gallery, home to artwork by Botticelli, Raphael, Caravaggio, Michelangelo and Titian as well as many others. In the afternoon you board your bus and travel to your Rome Airport Hotel.
Monday, October 15th
Today you depart on your self-arranged flight back home.
