Your Itinerary

On April 23rd, you will depart Orlando on a flight bound for Virginia. Later, immerse yourself in the history of our nation’s capital, which will leave you with a deeper pride and understanding of American History. Museum encounters, memorial visits, and preserved historical sites make this trip exciting and rewarding.  Bring these memories home with you on April 27th.

April 23, 2018

This morning, you will depart Orlando for your flight to Norfolk, Virginia. Upon arrival you will be met by your tour leader and private motor coach to begin your exciting, patriotic adventure. You will travel to Williamsburg for a guided tour of Colonial Williamsburg*, a living-history museum and private foundation presenting part of an historic district, before checking into your hotel. If available, after dinner you will enjoy an informative talk by a local expert about Early American Medical Practices*.

April 24, 2018

Following breakfast in your hotel, you will depart for the Jamestown Settlement*, where you may learn about the settlers many trials and adventures.  The exhibits in the gallery describe the social and economic events that led to the colonization of Jamestown.  The living-history areas outside bring the 17thcentury to life and include a re-created Powhatan Indian Village, full-size replicas of the three ships – Susan Constant, Discovery and Godspeed, a riverfront discovery area, and re-created James Fort. Following lunch, you will depart Jamestown for Washington, D.C. Your first visit will be to the Holocaust Museum*, both a touching and vivid reminder of those who were persecuted and a supplication against such inhumanity. After dinner, your guide will take you to some of the many memorials dedicated to the pride and sacrifice of the American people, such as the Jefferson, FDR, and MLK Jr. Memorials*. Afterwards, check in to your hotel in Washington, D.C.

April 25, 2018

After breakfast, you are scheduled to visit Ford’s Theatre and Lincoln Center* which will showcase our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln’s presidency, assassination and legacy.  This will be followed by a visit to the National Archives*, where you will view some of the most important documents in our nation’s history including The Declaration of Independence. The afternoon will be spent exploring other Smithsonian Museums* of your group’s choice. You will not want to miss the Smithsonian Museum of Air & Space. Some of the exhibits you will find at the Air & Space Museum include the Wright 1903 Flyer and the Apollo 11 command module, Columbia.  Tonight, you will enjoy an Illumination Tour of the Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean and WWII Memorials*.

April 26, 2018

This morning, a visit to the Capitol Building* is scheduled. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met at the Capitol for over 200 years. You will have time to appreciate the stunning architecture of the Capitol as well as the spirit of the nation and government it represents. Enjoy lunch at the Capitol, followed by a guided tour*. You will then visit The Library of Congress*, The Supreme Court Building and the new Sept. 11th Memorial* at the Pentagon.  Following dinner at Pentagon City, you will return to your hotel for the evening.

April 27, 2018

Your morning begins with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery*, resting place for so many American heroes.  Here, witness Kennedy’s eternal flame and the solemn Changing of the Guards Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. You will also have an opportunity to participate in a wreath laying ceremony. From there, you will tour Mount Vernon*, George Washington’s estate and final resting place. Your guide will direct you through Washington’s home, tomb and the many buildings which helped to run this large estate.  There you will also visit the Ford Orientation & Donald W. Reynolds Museum & Education Center*. From here you will depart for the airport and your flight home, along with your memories and a deeper pride and appreciation for American history.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The tour price of $2,045.00 is based on four persons to a room and includes roundtrip airline transportation (subject to confirmation) from Orlando, hotel, 4 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 4 dinners, sightseeing, entrance fees if required and motor-coach transportation, where applicable. Sightseeing visits INCLUDE guide and entrance fees (if applicable) to the Jamestown Settlement, Colonial Williamsburg, Holocaust Museum and Memorial, Memorial Tours, Ford’s Theatre, Smithsonian Museums, National Archives, US Capitol Tour, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery(including tram), and Mount Vernon. Please note that all above-mentioned scheduled activities are subject to change or cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. availability, weather, traffic, etc.). A minimum number of paying tour participants, travelling together, may be required for the tour offering to remain valid.
