FLORENCE

June 8 – 10, 2018

Upon your arrival in Florence on June 8th, the evening is yours to enjoy the ambience of this beautiful city. After checking in to your hotel, you will meet with your guide for a tour of the city*, including a visit to Academia*, the first academy of art. Dinner* tonight will conclude your first day in Italy. Begin June 9th with a visit to the Uffizi Museum*. Other highlights this afternoon may include visiting the Medici Chapel, shopping in the straw market and open-air market, visiting a leather factory and strolling across the Ponte-Vecchio to see the gold and silver shops. On June 10th, you will bid farewell to Florence as you travel to Naples by train.

NAPLES & SORRENTO

June 10 – 12, 2018

Upon your arrival to Naples on June 10th, you will enjoy a visit to the Naples Archeological Museum*, the most important archaeological museum in Europe, before continuing to Sorrento for the evening. Dinner will be provided at your hotel after check-in. Dedicate June 11th to sightseeing at leisure with your tour leader. You may optionally wish to visit the Isle of Capri, home to the beautiful blue crystal waters of the Blue Grotto, or simply browse the markets in Sorrento. On June 12th, you will begin your journey to Rome, stopping along the way to visit the archaeological site of Pompeii*, a glimpse into a bygone era. Here, the Roman Empire speaks directly to you through glimpses of ancient everyday life and real people frozen in time since the city’s burial by Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Tonight, you will check in to your Rome hotel.

ROME

June 12 – 16, 2018

As the “Eternal City” and capital of Italy, twentieth century Rome is a breathtaking mixture of ruins and monuments, fantastic fountains, beautiful piazzas and innumerable museums. On June 13th, you will enjoy a guided city tour* of this Mediterranean capitol, visiting such sights as the Colosseum & Forum*. Later this afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the Vatican Museums*, home to some of the world’s most ancient and sought-after relics. June 14th is dedicated time to exploring area points of interest with your tour leader. Be sure not to miss Piazza Navona, the Spanish steps or the Pantheon, and don’t forget to toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain to ensure your return to this magnificent city!! You may also wish to visit the Capitoline Museum. On June 15th, you will enjoy exploring the Via Appia Antica, an ancient historic road just outside Rome’s city center. There are also catacombs* set close to this stretch of road which you will visit on today’s journey before enjoying a farewell dinner*. On June 16th, you will bid farewell to the charm of Italy and return home, taking with you fond memories of your incredible journey.

In the unlikely event that EA Tours cancels the tour and is unable to operate a substitute itinerary, the tour cost including the initial deposit is fully refundable. A guaranteed twin room may be available for a supplemental charge of $345.00 per person.
