Your Itinerary

 

Thursday, June 14th

Today you depart the United States on your overnight flight to Italy.  Naturally, meals will be served, and optional in-flight entertainment offered.   Please refer to your flight schedule for pertinent details.

Friday, June 15th

Upon arrival you will be met and visit the Catacombs of St. Callisto before arriving at your hotel.  In the afternoon you will begin to explore Rome with your tour leader.  Dinner tonight is included.

Saturday, June 16th

At 8:00 AM you depart your hotel for a full day of sightseeing in Rome.  Included is the Colosseum, Nero’s Palace, The Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica as well as many other points of interest in the city.

 

Sunday, June 17th

Today you depart Rome at 8:00 AM and travel to Siena.  En-route you will enjoy a guided tour of Assisi and visit the Basilica of St. Francis.  Dinner is included.

 

Monday, June 18th

This morning begins with a guided tour of Siena.  You will then travel outside Siena for your included lunch and visit to Castle Brolio with wine tasting.

 

Tuesday, June 19th

A 9:00 AM departure is planned for your full day free time in one of Tuscany’s highest hill towns, Montepulciano.   The walls and fortifications offer wonderful views over Umbria and southern Tuscany, and you may wish to sample the famous wine of this region.

 

Wednesday, June 20th

At 9:00 AM you bid Siena good-bye and travel to Florence.  Following a lunch break (on own) and hotel check-in you will take a leisurely tour through Tuscany before arriving at Vignamaggio.  You will then have a wonderful experience visiting the Italian garden, the cellars and enjoying a Tuscan dinner with wine tasting before returning to Florence.

 

Thursday, June 21st

Your morning begins with an optional visit to the Uffizi Gallery (free to those who registered by the due date).  You will continue to explore with your tour leader and begin your guided walking tour at 2:30 PM.  Included is the Academia to see Michelangelo’s famous statue of “David”.

 

Friday, June 22nd

This is your free day to shop the gold and silver stores on the Ponte Vecchio, go to the leather market, visit the Bargello or Pitti Palace or take a public bus up to Piazza Michelangelo for a great view of the city.  Your tour leader will assist you with suggestions and help with directions.  This evening your farewell dinner is scheduled.

 

 

Saturday, June 23rd

At 6:30 AM you board your bus for transfer to Florence Airport and your return journey home.
