This morning you will depart Orlando, FL on a flight bound for our Nation’s Capital, Washington, D.C. Your private motor coach and tour leader will meet you on arrival at the airport. Following lunch, a visit is planned to the Holocaust Museum*, both a touching and vivid reminder of those who were persecuted and a supplication against such inhumanity. This afternoon will bring you to visit many of the memorials* dedicated to the pride and sacrifice of the American people including: The Franklin D. Roosevelt, WWII Memorials, Vietnam and Korean Memorials.   Following dinner enjoy a moonlight tour* of some of the remaining memorials including the Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Jefferson Memorials.

After breakfast you are scheduled to visit one of the seats of power in our nation, the Capitol Building*.  The Senate and the House of Representatives have met at the Capitol for over 200 years.  You will have plenty of time to appreciate the stunning architecture of the Capitol as well as the spirit of the nation and government it represents.  The rest of the day takes you for visits to museums and galleries on the National Mall.  There are more than 137 million objects, works of art and specimens at the Smithsonian Museums* and Galleries, so there is something for everyone visiting such sites as the Air and Space Museum and the Museums of Natural History and American History.    You will return to the hotel after dinner tonight.

October 9, 2016

After breakfast you will have an opportunity to see the view of Washington, D.C. from five hundred fifty-five feet while on your visit to the Washington Monument*.  Later today, perhaps it’s your day to make your television debut.  Numerous local and national broadcasts have been filmed at the Newseum*.  Exhibits at the museum will highlight the day’s newspapers from all over the world, as well as other exhibits like the September 11th exhibit, 4-D immersion theatres and hands-on exhibits.  After lunch partake in a humbling experience at Arlington National Cemetery*, resting place for so many American heroes.  Here, witness the solemn Changing of the Guards Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  Later you will visit the famous Iwo Jima Memorial.  Dinner tonight is at Hard Rock Café*.  This evening a ghostly experience awaits you on your Ghost Tour of Alexandria*.  Enjoy a special ice cream treat at Pop’s ice cream* before returning to your hotel.

One of the highlights of your patriotic adventure is a visit to Mount Vernon*, George Washington’s estate and resting place. Your guide will direct you through Washington’s home, tomb and the many buildings which helped to run this large estate.  You will also participate in the flag raising and wreath lay* at George Washington’s tomb.  Lunch is included at Mount Vernon.  You will enjoy exploring the National Archives*, where you will view some of the most important documents in our nation’s history including The Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Constitution. Afterward you depart for home, taking along with you memories, souvenirs, and a deeper pride and appreciation for American History.

 SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS:  The tour price is based on four persons to a room and includes roundtrip airline transportation from Orlando, FL, hotel, 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 3 dinners, sightseeing, entrance fees if required and private motor-coach transportation.
