Rio de Janeiro

June 22 – June 25

June 22 

Upon arrival you will transfer to your hotel.  In the afternoon a guided city tour is planned with visits to Sao Bento Monastery*, Praca XV, Candelaria Church*, Franca-Brasil House*, Old Market Street. 

June 23

A fun excursion is planned to Corcovado Mountain by cog-train through the Tijuca Forest.  At the top of the mountain you will be at the foot of the statue of Christ the Redeemer, Rio’s most photographed spot.  Following a barbecue lunch, you will continue to explore Rio with your tour leader.

June 24

Today you will embark on a schooner cruise* along the coastline of Rio de Janeiro, passing by Flamengo, Botafogo and Urca beaches.  You will view islands, Rio-Niteroi Bridge and historic fortresses before you arrive back to the pier for a wonderful view of Guanabara Bay.  A Samba dance lesson* is planned for the evening.

Iguacu

June 25 – 27

June 25

This morning you fly to Fox do Iguacu.  Upon arrival you will visit Bird Park* with over 900 tropical bird from 150 species.  This is a unique park allowing you entrance in the aviaries for a closer look at the birds.  Additionally, there is a butterfly exhibit, hummingbird aviary and a reptile sector. In the late afternoon you arrive at your hotel.

June 26

Today you will embark on a great adventure.  You will board open-air wagons pulled by jeeps and follow the trail through an intact eco-system, rich in birds, mammals, orchids and epiphytes.  You then hike down the canyon where the falls tumble into the Iguacu basin at Iguacu National Park Brazil*. Finally, you board inflatable motorboats that will navigate up to the canyon to maneuver through the rapids.

June 27

A view of Iguacu Falls* on the Argentinian side is planned for today.  Included is a visit to Iguazu National Park Argentina*.  This afternoon, you board your flight to Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires

June 27 – 29

June 28

The highlight of today is a full day guided city tour of Buenos Aires and includes a tour of Colon Theatre*.

June 29

Today you visit estancia Santa Susana* where a “criolilas” meal is served.  You will see a folk show with traditional dances, learn regional games, as well as taking sulky and horse rides.  Upon return to Buenos Aires you will begin your home stay adventure.

Home Stay Adventure

June 30 – July 2

A home stay is planned for you to get to know an Argentinian family.  You can experience typical home life and learn culture and traditions of this country.  On July 2 you will return to your Buenos Aires hotel.

Buenos Aires & Colonia del Sacramento

July 2 – 5

July 3, 2017

A full day tour of Colonia del Sacramento is planned.  This is a UNESCO World Heritage community in Uruguay.  With your local guide you will see the Street of Sighs, the lighthouse and the Real de San Carlos bullring.  You return to Buenos Aires by ferry.

July 4, 2017

Today you experience the best of Argentine cuisine and culture as you create your own empanada* and learn about Argentinian beef, enjoy a meal that includes beef, potatoes, roasted vegetables and make your own alfajores, a national sweet.  Following this you transfer to the airport for you return flight to the U.S. arriving in New Orleans on July 5.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The tour price, if payments are made by cash or check, is $4,995.00; otherwise, if paying by credit card, the standard non-discounted price is $5,095.00.  If you wish to use a credit card for your initial deposit, you will be allowed to pay the remaining payments by check and still receive the discounted tour price. Trip price is based on triple occupancy and includes round trip airfare from New Orleans, point-to point transportation between cities while in Europe, all breakfasts, 3 lunches and 6 dinners.  Additionally, *Entrance fees and/or transportation marked with an asterisk as well as city tours in Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Colonia del Sacramento are included in the tour price (Bento Monastery, Candelaria Church, Franca-Brasil House, schooner cruise, Samba Lesson, Bird Park, Iguacu National Park Brazil and Argentina, Colon Theatre, Santa Susana, Colonia del Sacramento and empanada Lesson (pending availability).  In the unlikely event that EA Tours cancels the tour and is unable to operate a substitute itinerary, the tour cost including the initial deposit is fully refundable.  Additional items may be offered optionally, are subject to availability and are not included in the tour price.  A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $400.00.  A guaranteed twin room may be available for a supplemental charge of $120.00 per person.  Included are the estimated applicable governmental international airline ticket taxes, fuel surcharges security surcharges, and associated fees.
