We will investigate the responses of travelers and literary icons who have been drawn in by the allure of these cities in the past, and seek out their own answers for why modern-day travelers are still drawn in by their charm. Rome

March 11-14, 2017

Upon arrival in Rome on March 11th you will enjoy a visit to Ostia Antica*, Rome’s ancient seaport, en-route to your hotel for check-in. Spend this evening exploring area points of interest with your tour leader.   On March 12th you will enjoy a guided tour of the city* beginning with the Colosseum and Forum*. This afternoon you will enjoy a guided visit to the Vatican Museums* including St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. Begin March 13th with a visit to the Capitoline Museum*, the world’s first public museum, offering a wonderful collection of sculpture and painting including pieces like the Etruscan, bronze She Wolf with fabled twins Romulus and Remus and Caravaggio’s St. John the Baptist. This afternoon is dedicated to exploring Rome with your tour leader to include such sights as the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and much more before departing to Florence the next morning.

 Florence

March 14-16, 2017

Continue your adventure to Florence on March 14th. As birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence will thrill you with its treasures. After checking in to your hotel you will enjoy a guided walking tour of the city* where you will see many of the important sights of this historic town including the Academia*, home to Michelangelo’s “David”, Santa Maria Novella, the Duomo, and the eight-sided Baptistry.   On March 15th a visit is planned to the Uffizi Gallery*, Italy’s greatest art gallery. This afternoon you may wish to optionally visit the Bargello Museum, Florence’s second-ranking museum, which houses Italy’s finest collection of Renaissance sculpture. Other highlights may include visiting the Boboli Gardens, shopping in the straw market and open-air market, visiting a leather factory or strolling across the Ponte-Vecchio to see the gold and silver shops.

 Venice

March 16-18, 2017

On March 16th you will continue your journey to Venice. This afternoon you will explore the charm of this city with a guided city tour* including the Doges Palace*. March 17th is dedicated to discovering area points of interest with your tour leader including optional sights such as the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, or perhaps taking time to relax with a Gondola ride through Venice’s historic canals (free to those who submit their application and deposit by the deadline). This evening your tour will culminate with your farewell dinner*, sampling the delicious cuisine of this region. On March 18th you will bid farewell to the charm of Italy and return home, taking with you fond memories of your incredible journey.

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The tour price, if payments are made by cash or check, is $3,605.00; otherwise, if paying by credit card, the standard non-discounted price is $3,705.00.  Tour participation is based on triple occupancy and includes roundtrip airfare from Orlando, point-to point transportation between cities while in Europe, all breakfasts and 4 dinners.  *Entrance fees and/or transportation marked with an asterisk are included in the tour price (Ostia Antica, Colosseum & Forum, Vatican Museums, Academia, Uffizi Gallery Doge’s Palace, and city tours in Rome, Florence and Venice) and may be subject to availability.
