Thursday, April 27th
Today you depart the United States on your overnight flight to Rome. Naturally, meals will be served and optional in-flight entertainment offered. Please refer to your flight schedule for pertinent details.
Friday, April 28th
Upon arrival at Rome airport you will be met and travel to Sorrento with a guided visit to Pompeii en-route. Following your tour you will continue to your hotel. Dinner tonight is included.
Saturday, April 29th
Today is a free day to relax, explore or take an optional trip to Isle of Capri (hydrofoil included for those who registered and paid deposit by the due date). Dinner tonight is not included.
Sunday, April 30th
At 10:00 AM you depart your hotel for a full day on the Amalfi Coast. You will stop in Positano and Amalfi before arriving in Vietri sul Mare. Following free time you will continue to Naples train station where you will board your overnight train to Sicily.
Monday, May 1st
Upon your arrival in Sicily you will be met, load you luggage on the waiting bus and have time to eat breakfast before departing to Mt. Etna, Europe’s most active volcano. Your guide will point out many interesting sights as well as tell you the history of the many lava flows and how attempts were made to stop or divert the flow. Your dinner is included at the hotel following check-in and time to relax.
Tuesday, May 2nd
At 8:00 AM you depart the hotel for a full day excursion to Agrigento and Valley of Temples where you will enjoy one of the most outstanding examples of 5th century Greek art and architecture to be seen anywhere. You return to your Catania hotel for dinner and overnight.
Wednesday, May 3rd
Another full day excursion is planned when you depart your hotel at 9:00 AM. today Siracusa is your destination. Your guided tour will include the Duomo including the Temple of Athena and the Greek Theatre.
Thursday, May 4th
Your day begins with a guided tour of Catania. In the afternoon you say “goodbye” to Sicily as you board your plane headed to Rome. Your first stop is Ostia Antica, ancient seaport of Rome, then you proceed to your hotel for check-in.
Friday, May 5th
Tivoli is your destination today where you will visit 2 magnificent villas – Hadrian’s Villa and Villa D’Este before returning to Rome.
Saturday, May 6th
Today is a free day in Rome. For those who have not been to Rome before you may want to optionally visit the Colosseum and Forum and/or the Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s Basilica. Those for whom Rome is a repeat may wish to shop or visit some of the lesser known but wonderful points of interest in the city. Your tour leader will help you with suggestions and logistics. At 7:00 PM you farewell dinner is planned near your hotel.
Sunday, May 7th
At 9:00 AM you depart your hotel for transfer to Rome airport. Your flight is scheduled to depart at 12:15 PM.
