This morning you will depart New Orleans, LA on a flight bound for our Nation’s Capital, Washington, D.C. Your private motor coach and tour leader will meet you on arrival at the airport. Upon arrival you will enjoy a boxed lunch and partake in a humbling experience and visit at the Holocaust Museum*. The remainder of the afternoon will take you to visit many of the memorials* dedicated to the pride and sacrifice of the American people including: the Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean and WWII Memorials.   Following dinner enjoy a moonlight tour* of some of the remaining memorials including FDR, MLK and Jefferson.

After breakfast you are scheduled to visit one of the seats of power in our nation, the Capitol Building*. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met at the Capitol for over 200 years. You will have plenty of time to appreciate the stunning architecture of the Capitol as well as the spirit of the nation and government it represents. The rest of the day you may break into smaller groups to visit museums and galleries on the National Mall. There are more than 137 million objects, works of art and specimens at the Smithsonian Museums* and Galleries, so there is something for everyone. You will enjoy exploring the National Archives*, where you will view some of the most important documents in our nation’s history including The Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Constitution. You will return to the hotel after dinner tonight.

This morning you will start at Mount Vernon*, George Washington’s estate and resting place. Your guide will direct you through Washington’s home, tomb and the many buildings which helped to run this large estate. Afterward partake in a humbling experience at Arlington National Cemetery*, resting place for so many American heroes. Here, witness the solemn Changing of the Guards Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The history of spies, spy gadgets and espionage await you this afternoon at the International Spy Museum*. Dinner tonight is at Hard Rock Café. Partake in a ghostly experience on your Ghost Tour*in Alexandria before returning to your hotel.

After breakfast you will have an opportunity to see the view of Washington, D.C. from five hundred fifty five feet and one eighth inch while on your visit to the Washington Monument*. Numerous local and national broadcasts have been filmed at the Newseum*. Perhaps it’s your day to make your television debut. Exhibits at the museum will highlight the day’s newspapers from all over the world, as well as other exhibits like the September 11th exhibit, 4-D immersion theatres and hands-on exhibits. After lunch you depart for home, taking along with you memories, souvenirs, and a deeper pride and appreciation for American History.

 SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: *** The tour price of $1199 is based on 41 or more paying tour participants traveling together on the itinerary as outlined.   In the event there is 25 – 40 total number of paying participants, the tour price is $1250.   A minimum of 25 paying tour participants is required for the tour offering to remain valid. The tour price is based on four persons to a room and includes roundtrip airline transportation from New Orleans, LA, hotel, 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 3 dinners, sightseeing, entrance fees if required and private motor-coach transportation. Sightseeing visits INCLUDE guide and entrance fees (if applicable) to the Smithsonian Museums, National Archives, Mount Vernon, Newseum, International Spy Museum, Alexandria Ghost Tour, Arlington National Cemetery, Capitol Tour, and a guided tour of the national memorials.
