Friday, February 26

Upon arrival you will be met by your private coach and transferred to your hotel. After checking in to the hotel you may choose to eat lunch before beginning your New York adventure. The rest of the afternoon will be devoted to a significant architectural achievement and renowned art museum, the Guggenheim Museum* where you will have time to explore the galleries. Tonight dinner* will be nearby Rockefeller Center where you will also get a chance to view the fabulous Manhattan skyline from the 70th floor observatory at Top of the Rock*.

Saturday, February 27

Start your day with breakfast* at the hotel. Afterwards your guided sightseeing tour* will introduce you to such sights as Times Square, Central Park, Battery Park, and Wall Street. You may choose to have lunch in Chinatown or Little Italy at an authentic Chinese or Italian eatery. Afterward you will continue your guided tour to other New York City highlights. A pizza and calzone dinner buffet* is on the menu at Times Square’s famous John’s Pizzeria.

Sunday, February 28

Following breakfast* you will visit the National September 11th Memorial & Museum*, which is located in the footprint of the former “Twin Towers.” The memorial is a tribute of remembrance and honor to the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11th, 2001. The museum’s exhibition space is located within the archaeological heart of the World Trade Center site telling the story of September 11th through displays, archives, narratives and artifacts. You will take a break for lunch (not included) before departing on your ferry* to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Ellis Island served as the main port for entry for European Immigrants arriving in the United States between 1892 and 1924. Today over 100 million Americans can trace their lineage to a relative that passed through Ellis Island. After dinner* tonight you may have some free time to explore on your own.

Monday, February 29

After breakfast* this morning you will view the airing of NBC’s, The Today Show starring Matt Lauer, Carson Daly, Al Roker and others and have some free time afterward for personal discovery or shopping. This afternoon will take you to the Frick Collection and the Frick Art Reference Library*. The Frick Collection includes masterpieces of European paintings, major works of sculptures including some of the finest small bronzes in the world, eighteenth century furniture and porcelain, and other remarkable works. After dinner* tonight you will experience the Empire State Building* which includes a recently renovated lobby area with stunning art deco ceiling murals, the Dare-To-Dream Exhibit and superb views of the city from the observation deck.

Tuesday, March 1

Following breakfast* you will explore the Lower East Side and the American Immigrant Experience*. The tour tells the stories of 97 Orchard Street, which housed the tenement apartment building that was home to 7000 working immigrants. In the afternoon, you may wish to take a legendary Macy’s Department Store tour, visit the art galleries of the Metropolitan Museum of Art or even see the views of the city from Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass (DUMBO). Dinner* tonight is included.

Wednesday, March 2

After breakfast* you will be participate in a guided tour of the United Nations* building beginning at the General Assembly Hall. You may also see the Security Council Chamber, the Trusteeship Council Chamber and the Economic and Social Council Chamber. While on the tour narration will teach you about how the United Nations addresses issues such as disarmament, peace and security, and human rights. This afternoon you will experience a Broadway matinee with the funny Tony-award winning musical, “Book of Mormon.”º   This evening you will have a farewell dinner*.

Thursday, March 3

This morning you will have breakfast* and check out of your hotel room for your transfer to the Amtrak train station for your transportation home taking with you memories of this amazing journey.
