Itinerary

Monday, March 21st

 

Today you depart the United States on your overnight flight to Krakow.  Naturally, meals will be served and optional in-flight entertainment offered.  Please refer to your flight schedule for pertinent details.

Tuesday, March 22nd

Upon arrival to Krakow you will be met and transferred to your hotel.  After dropping off your luggage you will begin a guided walking tour of the city.  Some of the points of interest that you will see include the Old Town, Castle and Cathedral on Wawel Hill, Jagiellonian University, Church of the Virgin Mary and Barbican Gate.

Wednesday, March 23rd

At 9:00 am you depart your hotel for a full day excursion to Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp followed by a visit to Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of the most outstanding attractions in Europe.  The artistry in this underground mine will amaze you.

Thursday, March 24th

Plans are underway for you to visit one of the Academy of Fine Arts venues in the morning.  Details to follow.  Your afternoon is free to explore with your tour leader,  Mr. Milo.  At 8:30 PM you transfer by private bus to the train station where you board the overnight train to Prague.  Your train departs at 10:00 PM.

Friday, March 25th

You arrive at Hlavni Praha Nadr at 6:38 AM where you will be met and transferred to your hotel where you will store your luggage.  You have a full day program planned with a friend of Mr. Milo.  The day will include a walking tour of Old Town Square and the Jewish Quarter, Wenceslas Square, a walk through Kampa Island and lesser town and Mucha’s Slavic Epic.

Saturday, March 26th

Today you will meet with local artists, and if a workshop is available, you MAY be able to attend.  Additionally, you will visit Prague Castle with your tour leader .

Sunday, March 27th

At 12:00 noon you depart Prague and travel to Berlin by private minibus.  Following hotel check-in you will begin to explore this amazing city.

Monday, March 28th

At 9:00 AM you depart your hotel for a 4 hour guided tour of Berlin.  Following a lunch break you have reservations to experience a guided tour of The German Bundestag.   Pending timing of parliamentary sittings and weather conditions a visit to the dome will follow.  You will then optionally ascend the Berliner Fernsehturm TV Tower (free to those who registered by the due date).

Tuesday, March 29th

This morning you will visit Checkpoint Charlie, the best known Berlin Wall crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War.  You will also visit the Mauermuseum also know as The Haus am Checkpoint Charlie Museum, an amazing chronicle of the Cold War years and the ingenious escape attempts made by East German citizens to reach the west.  In the afternoon it is tentatively planned for you to meet with a local screen printer.  A dinner allowance will be given for you to enjoy a farewell dinner.

Wednesday, March 30th

Your bus will take you to Tegel Airport departing the hotel at 7:00 AM.  See your flight schedule for details.
