Dublin, Newgrange & Tara
March 20th – March 23rd
Dublin, Capital of Ireland, is the host of many museums and historical sites that the Irish hold dear. On March 20th you will begin with a guided city tour* including such important locales as the hallowed halls of Trinity College*, where you will take in the artful pages of the ever-important Book of Kells*, and the gothic architecture of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral*. On March 21st you will enjoy exciting excursions outside Dublin to Newgrange*, a passage gravesite built in 3200 BC. Newgrange is the oldest solar observatory in the world and is known to rival Stonehenge with its splendor. Afterwards you will continue to the Hill of Tara*, which has been a sacred site since prehistoric times, with the earliest known monument (the Mound of the Hostages) built between 2500 and 2100 BC. The site remained in regular ceremonial use for thousands of years. March 22nd begins with a haunting tour of the infamous Kilmainham Gaol* one of the most important Irish monuments in relation to its struggle for independence. The next morning you will depart Dublin to continue your adventure in Killarney.
Killarney, Blarney Castle & Shannon
March 23rd – March 26th
On March 23rd you will board your private coach to travel to the quaint and picturesque town of Killarney. Along the way you will visit Blarney Castle*, known as the place where one acquires the gift of eloquence by kissing the famed Blarney Stone on the castle’s uppermost walls. On March 24th you will enjoy a dramatic guided* drive along the Ring of Kerry*. This piece of land, jutting out into the Atlantic, features some of the most breathtaking scenery found anywhere in the world. March 25th begins with a visit to the Cliffs of Moher* before continuing to Muckross House this afternoon (free to those who submit their deposit and application by the deadline). This evening you will transfer to your hotel in Shannon for your last night in the Emerald Isle. On March 26th you will return to the United States with fond memories, amazing experiences and perhaps a souvenir or two from your European adventure.
SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The tour price, if payments are made by cash or check, is $3,195.00; otherwise, if paying by credit card, the standard non-discounted price is $3,295.00. Tour participation is based on triple occupancy and includes roundtrip airfare from Orlando, point-to point transportation between cities while in Europe, all breakfasts and 2 dinners. *Entrance fees and/or transportation marked with an asterisk are included in the tour price (Trinity College, Book of Kells, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Newgrange, Hill of Tara, Kilmainham Gaol, Blarney Castle, Ring of Kerry, Cliffs of Moher, city tours in Dublin &Killarney) and may be subject to availability. Additional items may be offered optionally, are also subject to availability and are not included in the tour price. A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $220.00. A guaranteed twin room may be available for a supplemental charge of $165.00 per person. Included are the estimated applicable governmental international airline ticket taxes, fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and associated fees. If applicable, tax increases will be billed on a supplemental invoice. A minimum number of paying participants may be required to operate the tour. All tour participants must submit a signed application. A $500.00 initial deposit* is due no later than December 18, 2015 and will reserve your space on this tour. The tour cost, including the initial deposit, is fully refundable if the tour does not operate.
