Amsterdam

March 5th – March 8th

Built on a network of centuries-old canals, Amsterdam is a delightful city.  The largest and most cosmopolitan city of the Netherlands, it is also the diamond-cutting capital of the world. Upon arrival on March 5th you will enjoy a guided walking tour of the city* including a visit to the Anne Frank House*, after checking into your hotel. The home is where Anne Frank took refuge during the Nazi invasion of World War II and wrote her famous diary.  The next morning, March 6th, you will enjoy an excursion to Utrecht. The ancient city center features many buildings and structures several dating as far back as the High Middle Ages. It has been the religious center of the Netherlands since the 8th century. After a guided tour of the city* you may wish to visit optional museums with your tour leader.  Upon your return to Amsterdam explore the city’s incredible museums including the Rijksmuseum* considered one of the top three art museums in the world and home to Rembrandt’s “Nightwatch”. On March 7th you will visit the Van Gogh Museum*. The museum’s collection is the largest collection of Van Gogh’s paintings and drawings in the world. This afternoon dedicate time to discovering such fascinating sights as the Flower Market, Dam Square and Rembrandt Square or to some last minute sightseeing, shopping, strolling through Vondelpark, or simply enjoying the ambience of this beautiful city known as “the Venice of the North”. This evening you may optionally wish to enjoy a scenic canal cruise which offers fabulous views of this lovely area. On March 8th bid Amsterdam a fond farewell as you fly to London.

London

March 8th – March 12th

As the center of the glorious British Empire for many centuries, London has much to offer to visitors in the way of entertainment and adventure. Upon arrival on March 8th you will enjoy a visit to Windsor Castle before checking into your hotel. March 9th begins with a guided city tour* where you may see iconic sites such as Big Ben, Parliament, Buckingham Palace and more. This afternoon visits to Westminster Abbey* and the Churchill’s War Rooms are planned. The next day, March 10th, you will enjoy a visit to the infamous Tower of London*, where beefeaters will tell historic tales and you may have a chance to view the fabulous Crown Jewels. Later this afternoon you will enjoy a visit to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre*. This evening you may optionally choose to enjoy a ride on the London Eye (complimentary to those who submit their application and deposit by June 1st, 2015).  Sightseeing with your tour leader will be the focus of March 11th, discovering such sights as the British Museum, National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and Piccadilly Circus with your tour leader. This stunning cosmopolitan metropolis offers history and pageantry, museums, theatre, tea shops, the first Hard Rock Café, and shopping at such high-end establishments as Harrods’ and Selfridge’s. You will enjoy a farewell dinner tonight.  On March 12th you will return to the United States with fond memories, amazing experiences and perhaps a souvenir or two from your European adventure.

 

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The estimated tour price, (subject to airline arrangement finalization – approximately May 1, 2015), if payments are made by cash or check, is $3,095.00; otherwise, if paying by credit card, the standard non-discounted price is $3,195.00.  Tour participation is based on triple occupancy and includes roundtrip airfare from Tampa, point-to point transportation between cities while in Europe, all breakfasts and 4 dinners.  *Entrance fees and/or transportation marked with an asterisk are included in the tour price (Anne Frank House, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Westminster Abbey, Churchill War Rooms, Tower of London, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, and city tours in Amsterdam, Utrecht and London) and may be subject to availability. Additional items may be offered optionally, are also subject to availability and are not included in the tour price.  A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $525.00. A guaranteed twin room may be available for a supplemental charge of $450.00. Not included are the estimated applicable governmental international airline ticket taxes, fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and associated fees, which averaged $800.00 and upwards in the 2015/16 travel season.  If applicable, tax increases will be billed on a supplemental invoice.  All tour participants must submit a signed application.  A $500.00 initial deposit* is due no later than June 1st, 2015and will reserve your space on this tour. The tour cost, including the initial deposit, is fully refundable if the tour does not operate.
