Geneva

March 29 – April 1

 On March 29^th you will arrive in picturesque Geneva. Geneva is the most populous city in Romandy, the French-speaking part of Switzerland. You will enjoy a delicious Swiss dinner after checking into your hotel. March 30^th is dedicated to visiting CERN where you will tour fascinating scientific facilities including the Hadron Collider*. The Large Hadron Collider is the world’s largest and most powerful particle collider. Its aim is to allow physicists to test the predictions of different theories of particle physics and high-energy physics, and particularly prove or disprove the existence of the theorized Higgs boson and of the large family of new particles predicted by super symmetric theroies. On March 31^st a visit to the History of Science Museum is planned, before enjoying an afternoon boat tour of Lake Geneva. On April 1^st you will leave the Alps behind you as you travel to Paris via a high speed train.

 

Paris & Versailles

April 1 – April 5     

On your first day in Paris, you will enjoy a guided panorama tour of the city* enroute to your hotel, viewing such famous landmarks as the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, and the Place de la Concorde. Later this evening, you will enjoy a thrilling ascent of the Eiffel Tower*.  On April 2^nd an excursion is planned outside of Paris to the Palace of Versailles*, once the home of King Louis XIV, the “Sun King”. In the afternoon you will visit Montmartre and Sacre Coeur with your tour leader. The next morning, April 3^rd, begins with planned visits to the Exporadome and the Cite des Sciences museums in Paris. This afternoon you will also visit the Louvre* (world’s largest art museum), housing such legends as the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory and the Mona Lisa. This evening you may wish to enjoy a Seine River Cruise, (free to those who submit their application by December 19 2014). On the morning of April 4, you will visit the Palais de la Decouverte, or another science museum of your choice. This afternoon will be dedicated to last minute sightseeing with your tour leader, shopping, or simply enjoying the ambience of Parisian charm.  On April 5^th you will return to the United States with fond memories, amazing experiences and perhaps a souvenir or two from your European adventure.

 

SPECIAL TOUR CONDITIONS: **The tour price, if payments are made by cash or check, is $3,950.00; otherwise if paying by credit card the price is $4,050.00. If you wish to use a credit card for your initial $500.00 deposit, you will be allowed to pay the remaining payments by check and still receive the $3,950.00 price. Tour participation is based on triple and quad occupancy and includes roundtrip airfare from Atlanta, point-to point transportation between cities while in Europe, all breakfasts and 3 dinners.  *Entrance fees and/or transportation marked with an asterisk are included in the tour price, (CERN, History of Science Museum, Geneva Boat Tour, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Versailles, 2 Science Museums in Paris and a city tour in Paris) and may be subject to availability. Additional items may be offered optionally, are also subject to availability and are not included in the tour price.  A guaranteed single room may be available for a supplemental charge of $500.00. A guaranteed twin room may be available for a supplemental charge of $35.00. Included are the estimated applicable governmental international airline ticket taxes, fuel surcharges, security surcharges, and associated fees.   If applicable, tax increases will be billed on a supplemental invoice. A minimum number of paying participants may be required to operate the tour. All tour participants must submit a signed application.  A $500.00 non-refundable deposit required to reserve your space on this tour. The tour cost, including the initial deposit, is fully refundable if the tour does not operate. A 2^nd payment, generally $500.00 to $1,000, will be due no later than 15 days after your initial payment.  Final payments are due no later than 70 days before departure.  Updated Tour details (hotels, day by day itinerary, flights, etc.) are scheduled to be released approximately four weeks prior to departure.
