Paris & Versailles
March 29th – April 2nd
On your first day in Paris, you will enjoy a guided panorama tour of the city* enroute to your hotel, viewing such famous landmarks as the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, and the Place de la Concorde. On March 30th, an excursion is planned outside of Paris to the Palace of Versailles*, once the home of King Louis XIV, the “Sun King”. In the afternoon discover Notre Dame with your tour leader, and other sightseeing to explore the charm of this city. Later this evening, perhaps enjoy a thrilling ascent of the Eiffel Tower (complimentary to those who submit their application and deposit by October 1, 2013). The next morning you will visit the Louvre* (world’s largest art museum), housing such legends as the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory and the Mona Lisa. Later today, dedicate time discovering such sights as Sacre Coeur, Montmartre and Place du Tertre with your tour leader. Spend your last day in Paris at leisure allowing time for last minute sightseeing, shopping for souvenirs or delighting in Parisian Boulevards and cafes with your tour leader before departing for London the next morning.
London
April 2nd – April 5th
Bid Paris a fond adieu as you travel to London on the Chunnel. Center of the glorious British Empire for many centuries, London has much to offer to visitors in the way of entertainment and adventure. Upon arrival a guided city tour is planned where you will see iconic sites such as Big Ben, Parliament, culminating with a visit to Westminster Abbey*. The next day a visit is planned to the infamous Tower of London*, where beefeaters will tell historic tales and you may have a chance to view the fabulous Crown Jewels. Later that afternoon you will enjoy visits to St. Paul’s Cathedral*, masterpiece of Christopher Wren, and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre*. Sightseeing with your tour leader will be the focus of the following day, with possible stops at Her Majesty’s residence at Buckingham Palace, British Museum, National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and Piccadilly Circus. Later this evening you may optionally choose to enjoy a ride on the London Eye. This stunning cosmopolitan metropolis offers history and pageantry, museums, theatre, tea shops, the first Hard Rock Café, and shopping at such high-end establishments as Harrods’s and Selfridge’s. On April 5th you will return to the United States with fond memories, amazing experiences and perhaps a souvenir or two from your European adventure.
