March 11

After departing Dallas on March 10th, you will arrive at France’s Charles de Gaulle airport. Upon boarding your bus, a guided city tour* is planned en route to your hotel. Paris waits to greet you with all of the charm and the elegance for which it is famous.  The Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, and Place de la Concorde are among a few of the important sights this “City of Light” has to offer.

March 12

This day will be defined by a sojourn to the Louvre*, home to some of humanity’s greatest artistic masterpieces including the Venus de Milo, Winged Victory and Mona Lisa. Explore these historic halls and view artwork from across the globe, still speaking to us from beyond the veil of time. Later, explore the Sacre Coeur district, with its countless artists, eateries, parks and vistas. You may wish to view the artists of Montmartre at Place du Tertre, shop at Les Galeries Lafayette (France’s largest department store) or simply relax and enjoy the charm of the elegant boulevards and the outdoor cafes

March 13

The morning is dedicated to discovering the many fascinating sights of the city with your tour leader. Sightseeing begins with a visit to Saint Chapelle* and the massive gothic cathedral of Notre Dame*, renowned for its gorgeous spires and grotesque gargoyles. Later this afternoon you will visit the “Thinker” at the Rodin Museum* and visit the Musee d’ Orsay*(Impressionists collection). Perhaps this evening you will choose to ascend the Eiffel Tower*, and enjoy an opportunity that offers an unparalleled view of Paris by night. 

 

March 14

Traveling outside of Paris today begins with an excursion to the Palace of Versailles*. Once home to King Louis XIV, the so-called “Sun King”, it now serves as a testament to that era’s rich cultural heritage and aristocratic power. 

 

March 15

Today, take a stroll through the Latin Quarter*. Home to many educational institutions (including the illustrious Sorbonne) and some of the city’s more eclectic architecture; this is an excursion which should not be missed. Later today you will have a chance to explore the Paris Opera House* and the Pantheon, an ancient church which now serves as a modern day mausoleum.  That evening you’ll enjoy a Seine River Cruise (free to those who submit their application and deposit by the deadline) to mark your last evening in this enigmatic city.

 

March 16

Today you will board a plane bound for home with souvenirs, memories, and perhaps a photo or two in tow marking the end of your European adventure.
