DAY 1: Depart the United States from your departure city for an overnight flight to Rome, Italy. Naturally, meals will be served en-route and optional inflight entertainment will be offered.
DAY 2-4: Rome, the "Eternal City" and capital of Italy, is a magnificent city built on seven hills and is literally layers of history - one civilization built on top of another. Twentieth century Rome is a breathtaking mixture of ruins and monuments, fantastic fountains, beautiful piazzas, and innumerable museums. The Forum, Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Church of Santa Maria, Circus Maximus, the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain are but a few of the sights awaiting your arrival.
DAY 5: Plan a full-day excursion to Florence, home of the Renaissance. Florence boasts such important sights as Michelangelo's "David," Santa Maria Novella, the Duomo, the eight-sided Baptistery, the Ponte Vecchio, and the Church of Santa Croce.
DAY 6: Tour Vatican City, with a visit to St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museum, including the Sistine Chapel.
DAY 7-8: Depart Rome for travel to Lucerne, Switzerland. Lucerne is a charming, lakeside resort in the heart of Switzerland. Surrounded by green wooded hills and majestic mountains, the city offers a view of Swiss life both past and present. You will be introduced to such sights as the Lion Monument, the Tower Of Lucerne, its medieval wooden Chapel Bridge, and picturesque Old Town with 16th and 17th century burghers' houses and churches.
DAY 9: Plan an exciting optional day of skiing in the alps which would certainly be the highlight of your time in Switzerland. Then make arrangements to make an alpine ascent to enjoy the scenic beauty. Additionally, you may opt to attend an evening fondue dinner and Swiss folklore show.
DAY 10: Depart Zurich for your return to the United States, taking with you treasured memories of an unforgettable journey.
