DAY 1: Today you depart the United States, from your departure city, on your overnight flight to Sydney, Australia. Meals will be served and inflight entertainment will be offered.
DAY 2: (You crossed the International Date Line and "lost" a day.) Upon arrival in Sydney you will transfer to your hotel for check-in procedures and then begin your exploration of Australia's largest city.
DAY 3: Morning departure for your guided panoramic city tour. The remainder of the day includes a scheduled visit to a brewery and the international stock exchange as well as continued sightseeing. Sydney boasts a glorious harbor, unusual opera house, "The Rocks", the birthplace of Sydney and modern Australia, as well as beautiful gardens and wonderful museums. Dinner tonight is not included. Please see your tour leader for arrangements.
DAY 4: Cross Sydney's spectacular Harbor Bridge as you journey northward to coastal Coff's Harbour.
DAY 5-6: Continue on via Cape Byron to cross the border into Queensland, arriving in Surfer's Paradise. On Day 7, relax on the Gold Coast, or join an optional excursion to Seaworld.
DAY 7-8: Today's first stop is the Underwater World Oceanarium, then stroll along the trendy boardwalk or the seaside paths of Noosa National Park. Transfer by ferry to Fraser Island. Named after Eliza Fraser, the sole survivor of a shipwrecked party held captive by Aborigines, this is the world's largest sand island. On Day 8, enjoy free time to explore the island's beaches and rain forests.
DAY 9: Head into the rugged outback for a stay at the Cooper Downs Cattle Station, where you can ride horses, meet Australian wranglers, and explore the surrounding landscapes before a country-style barbecue.
DAY 10-12: Pass through sugarcane fields en route to the Whitsunday Islands. On Day 12, join an optional excursion to the Great Barrier Reef.
DAY 12-13: Visit a wildlife park for an up-close view of koalas, kangaroos and crocodiles as you transfer through Townsville. Ferry to picturesque Magnetic Island, one of the largest reef islands.
DAY 14-15: Journey to the Far North Queensland settlement of Cairns. Join an optional excursion to Kuranda and the Atherton Tablelands, ride a dramatically scenic railway line and watch an Aboriginal dance performance. On Day 15, opt to cruise via catamaran to the Outer Reef, where you can swim, snorkel, or take a semisubmersible boat ride. Then, savor a locally prepared farewell dinner.
DAY 16: Today you depart for your return flight to the United States, taking with you unforgettable memories of your incredible journey.
